I highly doubt that all testers have adapters from all manufacturers. It clearly matters and there is a difference. I am telling you this from experience.
My 1+13 with the original 80 watt power supply of 1+/Oppo SuperVooc charges extremely quickly ~35 min. With the 67 watt power supply of Xiaomi it charges in an hour and a half minimum and gets quite hot. And since phones are now coming en masse without adapters, I don't think I can trust a tester to have tested it with the right charger for the phone.

For example the S25 Ultra charges super fast for a 45W phone and the Oneplus 13 charges FAR faster than the X200 Pro/Ultra despite the wattage ratings being only 10W higher.

First, batteries are tested in laboratories under strictly defined environmental parameters, etc. Second, it doesn't matter at all how exactly you're going to use it, protect it, AI monitoring of charging, etc.
I've had phones that sat plugged into the adapter for over 50 percent of the time. I've also had ones that I recharged and stored according to all the rules. No difference after 3 years.
The only thing that's important to me right now is that the battery capacity is as large as possible and that it has at least 80 watts of charging to be fast. That's it.
My time is a much more valuable asset than some battery, that even if you don't use it, gets old and in a few years will have to be replaced.

AI summaries are only useful for known popular stuff, for example what the USB gen 3 and stuff things mean.
And like the charge cycle thing is just a marketing thing i think, aint no way someone's gonna sit down and validate it all. I've used Li-ion and li-poly batteries with slow or fast charging and 80% charging limit and i just have to say, nothing is as bad as updates. Your phone will get nuked harder with updates than any charging/battery tech.

Which as a number is exactly right. But in reality it is a marketing trick. 2000 charges of a small battery every day are fewer days of life than 1600 charges of a large battery every day and a half.

jiyen235, 15 Jul 2025omg google's saying one of its competitors' main ... moreYou are looking to deep into this. When even Vivo says it's true and the industry is trying to find a solution cuz the tech is new. Chinese companies like big (or small) numbers but it's too soon for the consumers to see the drawbacks. It's like with fast charging. Few years ago it was worse for the battery than it is now, cuz again, it was new tech. For now I would actually prefer a big Li/Po battery, but most important is the overall battery score, not the capacity. I don't care how they do it. One good thing with the whole Si/C batteries is the trend to make phones smaller (Chinese phones). Hope we can even get 6,2-6,1" phones in the 300-400$ midrange price point like the Edge Neo series.

Poor pricing, but was expected given that it was positioned as an X series phone.
There is no reason why it should be costing 1.5x of T4 ultra which has mostly similar specs.

X200 FE is heavily overpriced for what it offers (an almost 2 years old flagship chip)

Jemek, 14 Jul 2025Also what's up with the bad battery life of the X200 F... moreit's only gsmarena's test. And i dont really trust this test too much, very random and doesnt match others' tests. HuashengTest on yt did a small test for a few hours and the X200 Pro and X200 FE had similar battery life. The IQOO 13 was sliightly better, im talking 1-2% difference amongst these phones lol
And wdym? When did Vivo talk about the degradation? link sources please
I think that Si/C degradation is something no one really knows. I think it's safe to say that Si/C neither degrades nor holds its health better than others, i'd just like to say that it's the same as the older tech. Because phone manufacturers put in safety measures themselves. They limit the battery to a smaller amount than Li-ion batteries of the equivalent size. Watch Geekerwan's Chinese video on battery life on phones. You'll understand.
Good optimisation means nothing. I can turn on ultra battery saving mode and get extreme battery life. Apple, Sony, Google and Samsung "optimize" by cutting power, throttling, lowering refresh rate and brightness. Realme does that as well. Only Oneplus and Oppo give u absolute speed but their SoT is always a bit lower than others comparatively. Vivo is in a nice middle ground.
I'd say Vivo has optimized phones but i personally would rather go for Oneplus/Oppo phones, i respect that type of phone more. They can give u phones that work at full power yet have great battery life as well.

Xiaomi is not know to have the lightest UI and it beats the FE more than 1h with far smaller battery? Whats the point of the 6500mAh. Also Vivo said Si/C batteries degrade faster and OnePlus 13S got a Li/Po 5850mAh battery so the Si/C hype is kinda dying on me when OEMs forget good optimization to go with it.
