you have to suffer, 21 Aug 2025unless if you have skinny fingers, then it made sense. if you cant unlock the watch then the hand is too big anyway to use a watch, which is NOT the case for 99% of users

This is what I really want on my future Galaxy Watch. Gonna make unlocking and Samsung Pay a lot more convenient. FYI for anyone curious, both Apple and Samsung have filed a patent for embedding fingerprint sensors into their smart watches since 2018, and both filed for in-display fingerprint sensors or built into a button.
The reason both companies haven't yet accomplish to put any fingerprint sensor into their watches is simply because the current buttons on their watches (Apple's Crown/Side Key, and Samsung's Back/Home key) houses electrode and are being used for health measurements, and it conflicts with a fingerprint sensor.
Either they have to put another button solely for a fingerprint sensor (I doubt it, or else they would have done it long ago), or find a way to include both the electrode sensor + fingerprint sensor within the same button.

It would be great if Apple added a fingerprint sensor under the screen or on a button on the watch. Even with a passcode, fingerprint biometrics make some actions more practical.
In my opinion, even the iPhone could have a fingerprint sensor again, even with Face ID. It would be an EXTRA LAYER of security. It would be even better if the user could choose which biometrics to use for different situations, either individually or in combination.

Apple will do anything but bringing back the TouchID to the iPhone.
They can even integrate it within the camera control button!
