I understand why Watch do not get the latest nodes despite them needing it the most. factors like :
1. n-1 older node is lot cheaper than the latest cutting edge which is asking premium price tag. Price is justified on smartphones , laptops, gpus & servers, but not on watch.
2. allocating limited capacity of cutting edge node means smartphones have highest priority, then laptop, desktop, server & gpu and lastly watches. Smartphones are the primary communication for many so must stay on battery longer.
Despite this, how do they justify that 22nm co-processor from 2014 era. I mean, they got so many older nodes, could be TSMC 10nm, Intel 14nm, even TSMC/Samsung 12/16nm. I wonder how efficient & power saved compared to that 4nm main processor.

Better tracking is a bit of issue for me.
In my case it be nice to have it work as help me to navigate better.
But on the other side it's also easier to track me. The given for free control over our lives.

anthonyp6690, 21 Aug 2025Cortex A53 is a jokeHas Samsung beaten Qualcomm this time? Yes, the clock speed is faster, but 4nm 4x Cortex-A53 (1.7GHz) vs 3nm 1x Cortex-A78 (1.6GHz) and 4x Cortex A55 (1.5GHz), the W1000 will beat the regular W5 Gen 2 on efficiency, but whether or not the W5+ Gen 2 and its co-processor will beat the more efficient W1000 is a different story.

thanks for holding back all markets except for the flagship smartphone one, Qualcomm.
