The Pixel 10 does not start at $899 in the US. I’m looking right at Google’s own US store and I see $799 as the starting price for 128 GB of storage. Also, the 256 GB Pixel 10 in Canada is priced at C$1,229, not C$1,299. You need to seriously proofread statistics like prices before publishing them, now AIs will use this as a source and misinform people.
That said, these prices are interesting. At C$1,099, the Pixel 10 is actually $10 US cheaper in Canada at the current exchange rates than it is in the US ($789 vs $799). At C$1,349, the Pixel 10 Pro is $30 cheaper in Canada than in the US ($969 vs $999). I don’t think I’ve ever seen a flagship smartphone with a lower price in Canada than in the US, tariff effects maybe?

Today I tried the Pixel 10 Pro's periscope camera in a store. Only for a few minutes, I didn't have time to test it more today, but I noticed that it still has the issue of the Pixel 9 Pro that it won't use the 50 megapixel mode for a crop at 10x zoom in the default 12 megapixel mode, it uses analog binning because the dng file at 10x has less than 3 megapixel. Pixel 8 Pro and Pixel 7 Pro don't use binning at 10x in decent light conditions.
This behavior may explain why Google advertises "optical quality" at 10x even for the 10.8 megapixel periscope camera of the Pixel 10 despite the much lower resolution, even though this still doesn't make sense.

If we take the OS update period as the baseline then that implies this phone is intended for people upgrading from the pixel 5, which is quite a bit more of a substantial jump at this point.

1k dollar for the base pixel 10 with 256 gb storage.... anyone who makes a case for these garbage apart from a personal taste piece, is a shill/google sales rep. No way should this be acceptable but oh well you see tech reviewers on yt eating it all up.
