The Xiaomi 16 Pro is rumored to drop the quad-curved display

According to a previous report, the display will be bigger than the 6.73" panel of the Xiaomi 15 Pro.

IMO only the Samsung Galaxy S21 and S21+ and the Google Pixel 8 and 8 Pro got it right. These phones have flat displays and rounded frames and edges, which is the most comfortable design to hold and still has the most durable display. Modern phones have become way too flat and are nowhere nearly as comfortable to hold, whilst also looking cheap because of the flat design trend. Curves look premium, and by having those with a flat display, you can have the advantages of the aesthetics and ergonomics whilst also still having the durability.

            While curved screen looks cool it isn't practical and very hard to find a good screen protector.

              Is xiaomi 16 pro only going to be sold in china like it was the case with xiaomi 15 pro?

                Bad news, because you can't get any good tempered glass for these 3D screens.

                        The curved was invented by Samsung to differentiate their screen capabilities from other manufacture
                        The curved has nothing to do with "good", it just a style that with enough promotion through social media were deemed as "cool" and "must have" for flagship

                        Now all company can make curved display, there is no point for Samsung to "pay" those social influencer to keep promoting curved display or saying bad things about flat display

                                  I think flat displays look nicer as long as it is paired with razor thin bezels.

                                  While I personally like curved displays when done right, I know that many curved phones in the past are often accompanied with thick top and bottom bezels (e.g. Oppo Find X5), which is also ugly.

                                  The best curved display phone, by far, is the ZTE Axon 40 Ultra.

                                    Fortunately, the quad curve screen seems likely to be a fairly short lived trend. Whilst it will continue on a large scale it looks like android flagship phones have come full circle and are trending back to flat screens which they started with in the first place. The quad curved screens were a nuisance in my opinion especially for those that use tempered glass screen protectors. It also kind of shows the ridiculousness of the marketing materials. After many years of brands promoting curved screens as been more premium, and then marketing these quad curved screens as the ideal solution due to combining the benefits of a flat and curved screen, brands are now telling use that flat screens are best again in their marketing materials!

                                        But it should be practically gone after 2025 as you can see.
