Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra may have a huge camera island just like the iPhone 17 Pro

The reason apparently has to do with it needing to fit better (and larger) cameras.

I thought I read somewhere the samsung 26 ultra was going to have the continuous zoom feature?

    It's crap software processing even google with older sensors can match these crap but it lags behind due to portrait, portrait videography which it is not even in mood to do better even from pixel 6 pro it's crap and google not listening.
    Just use xiaomi 11 ultra 10 days before and compared to samsung s24 ultra it's better than that chamsung crap
    Used samsung from s6 edge to samsung s23 ultra and when i used other brands i was just like wow it's just crap ui is something good but not like pixels ui

          Hope the island gets bigger than Xiaomi 15 Ultra pray for that finaly samsung gets a proper camera not useless one like until now. Where one camera was great and remaining were average at most 10 to 12 mpix.

I don't think people were anticipating Samsung and Apple going in the direction of super thin form factor but they did. So anything is in the realm of possibility. But looking at the past, Samsung is always keeping Ultra very separate from the other models specifically in terms of camera. Hopefully S26 will get some camera improvements. I just want something close to Ultra camera array in a smaller form factor of either the S25 or even S25+.

                    Oh please Samsung don't do this at all. It will make the S26U just as ugly as the iPhone. I really hate that about the iPhone. I really hope this is wrong and Samsung doesn't put this ugly island on there upcoming smartphones.

Samsung might do it in the future we do not know. Did you predict in advance Samsung was going to do a S25 FE? I doubt it. Similarly Apple and Google might decide to stop making smaller pro versions and stick with the large size in the future. However the fact that they haven't stopped yet indicated there is demand for both small and large models. Your attitude suggest you actually don't want Samsung to do it, and that's fine if you are happy with the Ultra size. It doesn't mean you need to bash someone else for expressing a desire for an alternative point of view.
