Soon Samsung's will become midrange phone, flagship price.

That means Google will be entry level phone, flagship price.

It would be great if people skip the S26 Ultra so Samsung realizes that it's going completely in the wrong direction.

JoXim, 27 Aug 2025Regulatory and Shipping Restrictions are the main reason...... moreBattery degradation is a non-issue for the most part. Given that when it happens you will very likely have moved to another device or simply replace them for cheap.

Kudos for samsung for increasing charging speed if the rumours turn out to be true.

That's alright, if they price the phone under a thousand

Samsung is running a pilot program on their M-line batteries. These batteries likely won't be ready until the Z8.

To date, the S25 Ultra sold over 8 million units. Vivo, Oppo and Xiaomi sold a little over 1 million combined. As long as Samsung's sales aren't threatened, they're not going to rush their battery development to win message board arguments and youtube battery tests. Everybody wants more battery life. Whether it's a phone, earbuds or a bluetooth keyboard, but I think the Z is in far more need of a battery upgrade than the Ultra. That's where I think we will see their upgraded battery technology.

The brand doesnt even show the battery health status to consumers to begin with in their OneUI.

Strawhat, 27 Aug 2025Lol, they want to copy Apple But iPhone have a better effi... moreThe battery capacity of the iPhone 16 Pro Max is 4,685 mAh.

The Galaxy Z Fold 7 and its 4,400 mAh battery life is just as good, if not better, than the Honor Magic V5 and its 5,800 mAh. Just saying. And Samsung's batteries guarantee at least 2,000 full cycles at 80% of the battery's initial capacity, compared to 1,000-1,500 for Chinese smartphone batteries. In short, Samsung batteries are more efficient and longer-lasting. So, long live Sammy! ;-)

Regulatory and Shipping Restrictions are the main reason...
Higher-capacity batteries (e.g., over 5,000mAh) are classified as "dangerous goods" in regions like the US and EU, complicating air shipping, increasing costs, and requiring special handling. This is a major barrier for global brands like Samsung, which ships millions of units worldwide.
Next...silicon-carbon batteries degrade faster than conventional lithium-ion ones.
Samsung promises 6 or 7 years of software updates for majority of their phone so battery lifespan must align to avoid performance issues or user complaints during that period.
Next, silicon-carbon batteries are more expensive to manufacture.
                        Etc, etc....

Until Apple does it, Samsung won't either.

They increased the charging watt, not charging speed. It will still take 1h and 30 mins to fully charge.

Lol, they want to copy Apple
But iPhone have a better efficieny more than Samsung even with the same battery size!
