This generation is nice for the vanilla model, but aside from that, is really time for a generation with a focus on performance(maybe giving the Redmi note 16 a dimensity 8300, the 16 pro a 8400, and the 16 pro+ a 8500, with the idea of every later generation getting a single generation improvement for example: note 17 with a dimensity 8400, note 17 pro with a 8500, and note 17 pro + with a 8600)

Love gadget77, 01 Sep 2025None , fvckin ufs 2.2 . At least 3.1 I tested Vivo V60 out (which has UFS 2.2) in a retailer shop, it seems fine enough, at least for typical daily usage :P
just like USB-C 2.0 though it'll bite your backside when you need it... as Xiaomi 14T owner, it's very frustrating when you know that your storage is capable of far faster transfer speeds (UFS 4.0), but the USB-C port is 2.0 for no particular reason, and even transfering 10GB files for emulation or tons of photos and videos for backup purposes takes a ridiculously long amount of time all because of cost-cutting.

I read on reddit and twitter developpers can't unlock bootloader on HyperOS3 (yet ?)
But it seems like Xiaomi is less and less permissive when it comes to unlocking bootloader... Even when HyperOS came out, it made it much harder than when it was MIUI...

These phones, in global versions, will arrive severely degraded, as happened with the Redmi Note 14 series.

Already on HyperOS 1 and 2, it is more difficult to unlock the bootloader than previously on MIUI. On Chinese devices, regular people even can't unlock the bootloader. You need to be a level 5 paying developer and then you can get the ability to unlock the bootloader.

Its practically the same phone just 14 pro plus has ufs 2.2 and better processor and note 13 pro plus has ufs 3.1. I was using both phones (now using note 14 pro plus) and in reality you can't see the difference in normal every day use, only where you see ufs speed difference is when you transfer from sd card or to sd card over usb C, its not like woow look at the difference but its like 1min difference when transfering 700mb to 1gb game... Other than that its the same.

The note 13 pro plus had 120W charging. This 2 gens newer having a bigger battery and slower charging is definitely not better suited as you say.

and, if it is really true, I might as well take it as a sign to jump ship to Vivo V60. A big-name reseller in my country is offering good pre-order trade-in deals for it, and my Xiaomi 14T is included, and after trading, the V60's price will drop to roughly 70 USD (converted from local currency). Damn HyperBUG, after all, and damn the build quality Xiaomi phones have these days, FuntouchOS is at least more stable.

The vanilla redmi note no longer have a 3.5mm jack this year...
Even the Redmi 15 (non C) lost it's 3.5mm jack...
Only the Redmi 15C still has it... But it's very probable the Redmi 16C (next year) will lose it too.
I was wishing for a recent redmi with an amoled screen + a jack port + 5G ... :(
I guess it's now an extinct species...

like, no, seriously, Xiaomi 14T can beat Note 15 and 15 Pro easily, while 15 Pro+ should only be preferred over 14T if you really want Snapdragon due to custom ROMs or emulation performance or both...

Note 15pro+global version should be have Dimensity 8400, 7000mAh, telephoto camera and better to change camera sensor like IMX 896 or LYT701. Also UFS 3.1
