It will happen and I predicted it.
I said that Vivo X300 will have two 200 megapixel cameras and I was right.

Seems it would make more sense to do 200mp wide angle if they retain the 35mm main. I don't see a ton of reasons to crop the 35mm main if that is retained? But maybe main will go back to a wider angle? Guess wider 200mp main wouldn't be bad...but 35mm does give a nicer perspective of things also, so a sorta nice main to keep around.

bump with 200mp 1/1.3'' cameras or
flat surface but 10mp 1/4'' cameras...
But this is actually what they do, be it bar, flip or folds, its not nice

Be interesting to see what they do for this one.
Coming from X100U to X200U I really prefer the 35mm lens on the main,
Perhaps 35mm 1/1.1" 200mp Sony sensor, 85mm/135mm 200mp Samsung sensor.
Be interesting to see if that means the UW is getting downgraded for the sake of space though.

Fa14bi, 05 Sep 2025No, the Phone unbins pixels according to how much you zoom ... moreDigital crop is not equal to higher focal length. You'll still get distortion from the cropped photo.
You can check out the 125mm portrait photos of Oppo Find X8 Pro/Ultra. You'll see the faces look a bit more flat than usual. You can't achieve this look by using a 24mm or even an 85mm lens and then simply cropping in - even if it has a lot of megapixels to do so.

Therefore this phone has
Native 12.5MP at 14mm
Native 12.5MP at 28mm
Native 12.5MP at 35mm
Native 12.5MP at 70mm
Native 12.5MP at 85mm
Native 12.5MP at 170mm
Native 12.5MP at 340mm.
Not possible if the sensors in this Phone were just 12.5MP, then you would only have 3 focal lengths with Native 12.5MP
Because these are 200MP Sensors, it will be 7 focal lengths with no Upscaling at all.
