Will the next OnePlus installments be cheaper that way? I don't think so.

OnePlus never needed them, they were a gimmick, the name alone was supposed to help sell units, the fact is Hasselblad specializes in full size cameras, not camera phone cameras, good riddance to wasted resources

At this point, might as well just get the oppo fx series. With the tradeoffs being you'll be having a mediatek chip instead of a snapdragon chipset.

Hr, 07 Sep 2025So they are replacing color science algorithm with a detail... moreEver since the OnePlus 9 series, each OnePlus flagship has featured Hasselblad branding and image tuning from the legendary camera brand. In a new turn of events, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau confirmed that the Hasselblad partnership has come to an end and OnePlus is building its own imaging engine.

OnePlus and Hasselblad are ending their 5-year partnership
OnePlus DetailMax Engine will usher in a “new era of computational imaging” for OnePlus devices. It's expected to debut on the OnePlus 15, and Lau shared that OnePlus has developed advanced algorithms and claims the new imaging system will deliver “images with unmatched depth and realism”. He also shared that he is using an early prototype version of the DetailMax Engine, which has delivered impressive results.

OnePlus parent company Oppo recently extended its partnership with Hasselblad, so we will still see new flagships with Hasselblad imaging on the upcoming Find X9 series.

Anonymous, 06 Sep 2025I think oneplus will soon be forgotten and dies in next 10yrsOn what basis do you say that?

Anonymous, 06 Sep 2025Isn't having a gap the point? Oppo is camera centric, ... moreso? we got a better product in the oneplus before, now we wont.

"computational imaging” sounds bad. I dont want AI to enchance the picture. But lets wait and see

Watchout dont update your os. Since no partnership anymore, you'll get worse camera quality if you do that

Well, they tried, it didn't work out, they moved on.
Sounds just like my last relationships. Lol.

OnePlus is continuing where Oppo left off with the MariSilicon NPU. This is undoubtedly MariSilicon 2.0.

Aierlan, 06 Sep 2025Yeah, the find x series will continue the partnership. I to... morebetter to buy an IQOO at that point. Better speakers

jiyen235, 06 Sep 2025oppo's lumo? so they'll have the hassleblad partn... moreYeah, the find x series will continue the partnership. I totally agree on cameras. There will be a bigger gap in quality but that's what OPPO wants. The Oneplus 13 had better camera hardware than the OPPO find x8 despite being close in price but this year that won't be the case. The Oneplus will still be better than both find x models in terms of things like haptic feedback, charging etc (120w charging with just 80w on the find x9 and find x9 pro) but there will be a clear gap in camera performance especially compared to the find x9 pro model. Wouldn't be surprised to see a slight reduction in price in China at least for the Oneplus 15 too (maybe 200rmb) to match the Iqoo 15 pricing and be close To the Redmi k90 pro's pricing but can't see the price being reduced too much as they won't save too much on the camera hardware

                                      meh

Aierlan, 06 Sep 2025Actually just to update my previous reply. It is OPPO'... moreoppo's lumo? so they'll have the hassleblad partnership but wont carry it over to oneplus?

im just sayin man, even tho oppo will handle it, there'll be a huge gap in quality between oneplus and oppo now.
