Their new image processing system is just going to be 'Lumo' rebranded. They might even still call it Lumo in China with the detail max name only being used in global markets. At least Chinese reviewers are saying it's Lumo e.g. Xiaobai (little white). Looks like the periscope is going to be the same as the find x8s as it's going to be 85mm periscope with f2.8 aperture. Probably the same jn5 from the OPPO find x8s

potato4k, 05 Sep 2025DetailMax? So it's their version of Deep Fusion, I guess.Detailmax seems like it's OPPO's Lumo image processing branding just renamed for Oneplus

They have decided to focus mainly on performance now with the Oneplus series. The Oneplus 15 flagship will compete more directly with the Iqoo 15 flagship and the Redmi k 90 pro. The loss of the Hassleblad branding doesn't matter much but it seems the camera hardware will also be downgraded a bit. Oppo will leave the find x9 series to compete with the Xiaomi 16 series, Vivo x300 series and Honor magic 8 series with Oneplus competing more directly with Redmi and Iqoo. I think this move is mainly for the Chinese market where Oneplus has grown quickly in the last two years.

If a person is good-looking, you can take pictures of them in any way you want. The clarity of today's cameras is sufficient.Personally, I don’t like beauty filters and prefer my natural look.

Stupid OnePlus. They basically treated the partnership as purely transactional, and once they grow tired they throw the partnership out like garbage.
Hasselblad image processing (mainly w.r.t. Oppo phones) isn't quite as "unprocessed" as Leica's take on Xiaomi, but it does have a Master Mode that gives you lots of control over the photo. I highly doubt whatever this DetailMax is, that it will serve as a worthy replacement to that. Sounds like another AI-powered thing, perhaps something similar to Topaz photo ai.
