      Jerrey, 07 Sep 2025Why Watch companies keep on bumping Brightness, 1,000 nits ... morehigher max brightness displays means that they last longer without burn in at the same brightness as before. it also means less power consumption at 1000nits. theres also places that have very intense direct sunlight, and need brighter screens.

I use my Watch Ultra with AOD on and raise to wake off and get 3 days battery life that way, so the Watch 7 should last a bit shorter

                    i had one of those 7-14 day battery life watches (huawei watch fit 3)
                    honestly felt really good to not have to charge it everyday+it was really cheap and did everything i needed it to
                    it ended up dying so I'm gonna try a galaxy watch 7 which is on a really good sale right now. wonder how the battery will be

                      Why Watch companies keep on bumping Brightness, 1,000 nits is more than enough already.

                      What people want is bigger and longer Battery life, bumping that nits have opposite effect. Look what happen to Garmin 570, 970 and recent Fenix 8 Pro series, they short battery life than their predecessor.

                      Companies, please do surveys and know what people want. Definitely brighter screen is no longer one of it.

                        Let me guess, it will once again barely last 24 hours?

                              Its strange Apple can optimize their software to achieve class leading or competing battery life against phones with far bigger batteries, but they can't do the same for their smartwatch.

                                    While smartwatches are cool and fun they have short battery life. And aren't very necessary devices unless you use them for gym.
