With increase in battery capacity, I’m sure the phone is going to be thicker in form factor. 16 pro max already feels like a brick in hand. What would 17 pm feel like - 2 bricks??

With bigger batteries you won't ever have battery anxiety. Apple should just offer you the best and not these silly slow minimal increments in battery size so as to be seen as "Improving"

Anonymous, 08 Sep 2025lion has nothining with carbon stopy spretasding lies Correct. Li-on has nothing to do with carbon . . . UNTIL you try to substitute traditional anodes with pure silicon and it expands at a rate of 300%. In order to take advantage of the benefits silicon offers without the risks, the size of the silicon is minimized, mixed in with other elements and Carbon is added to control the silicon swell.

In 2025, you don't have to be a chemist to know this. It's silicon carbon battery 101. What did you think the carbon was for? Aftermarket accessories to pimp out your battery?

For Pro Max, at this voltage, the maximum single cell capacity without hazard transport in US is 5146mAh (20Wh at 3,886V). So without a change like dual cell, this is very close to the limit. Also, the Pro models now surpass the Galaxy S25 and S25 Ultra capacities (remember Samsung‘s capacity, like every other Android phone manufacturers, is typical capacity, which is higher than the minimum/rated capacity of Apple. For the S25 Ultra, for example, the rated capacity is like 4865mAh or something I don’t remember exactly)

FC, 08 Sep 2025Means no si silicone large battery. Calling themselves adva... moreSilicon carbon still falls under Li-on so there is still a slim possibility. Si/c is the anode.
The batteries are labeled by the cathode. In other words, they likely won't be labeled silicon carbon.

At the moment ATL applies si/c material from Group14 to Oppo, One Plus, Vivo, Huawei and others. It looks like Honor switched their manufacturer to CosmX which is also known as Zhuhai Guanyu Battery Co. Ltd. If you research Sunwoda, they do have si/c batteries so it is possible.

Other than the standard 17, all the others, especially the Pro versions, look ugly. In fact, they make a case for being the ugliest smartphones in the market, which is unfortunate.

Anything below 6.0 inch is not great especially when you need the space for better hardware such as bigger battery, 6.3 is the perfect size, i tried a lot of them it fits everything perfectly, anything below that is just not suitable for modern apps, most apps are made to accommodate larger displays so it wouldn't look the best at smaller devices, 6.1-6.3 but below 6.0 is a no no

A Galaxy S25 Ultra with a the kindsuit case and a ceramic protector is 255g according to my kitchen scale and I (a nerd that spends 10-15 hours per day with little to no physical activity) don't find it heavy or bulky enough to be uncomfortable.

Anyway, the battery size alone is not the issue here at all - Realme GT7 is listed with 7200mAh battery and a weight of 203g - S25U is 5000mAh with 218g - the materials used to build the phone and size influence the weight more than the battery capacity these days.

I had in past iPhones that weight 230-240g and they were not so usable for long periods of time, as my hands got tired rather quickly. Now, I have a phone that weights 180g, it feels really nice in the hand and I can hold it for more time. And is a 6.7" phone, I mean is not small phone, just smaller than this 6.9" heavy phones.
