I didn't understand
Can PWM be turned off? I thought all screens have the PWM frequency. Does this mean sensitive eyes won't get tired of the iPhone screen anymore?

Oh, component price is lower as well. AMOLED sux when we have the superior technology called IPS LCD. I use it everyday on all of my devices (after all my OLED displays broke) and it’s so great, boringly reliable, always makes me happy.

Why does this article talk as if it is a compromise when the very high PWM frequencies of Chinese phones are the real compromise and this is the only real full solution to the problem? Oh of course looking at the author it makes sense why the article is written like that

why commend the bare minimum when others are actually doing good??

Superpower2030, 12 Sep 2025No.why didnt we have dc dimming below a certain brightness threshold till now then? why'd they go for pwm?
im telling you bro, it's cus of real reasons. The image loses a lot of its color even in sdr. I'm using an asus oled laptop and i have to turn on the dimming when lowering brightness. The pop of most stuff is gone when i use the dimming.
So i either get that's pleasant for my eyes but causes strain or doesnt cause strain but is somewhat bland. The X200 Ultra with high pwm dimming at low brightness looks phenomenal to me and causes no issues for me.

What is PWM? Why would people care about a feature that they are not aware of its existence and have not been aware of? How many million people will avoid apple due to this?

But the most common side effect of the thickness of the single black line become more thicker

Finally. It took them so many years. Because of the PWM on OLEDs I still use a phone with an LCD display that is flicker-free.
