one ui 7 still being a topic today, and currently even a bigger topic than one ui 8 (maybe all the people I've spoken to aren't even aware of it or something?), just shows how small the time gap between ui 7 and 8 is, and how late ui 7 came out

S and Fold series are way expensive than EU and USA, Over $300 difference in every model. S25 U price in India is $1650 while in USA its $1299. Major difference. Fold 7 Costs $2200 in India.

My S21 FE is made in Vietnam and got the green (then white) line a day after One UI 7 (now there are 6 white lines and growing). The only way to fix it is to pay $200 and still they are not sure they will find a new screen for it lol..

Seriously... moreAnd you can not unlock bootloader on Xiaomi in my region... and they are not the only one.
Heck, the only brands that allow unlocking the bootloader in my region are Motorola, Fairphone, Pixel and Oneplus.
And most custom roms are tailored to Pixels or Fairphones nowdays, LineageOS is not annymore what it once was.

(And yes they were original, I don't live in India)
I don't know if S series sold in India are produced there, but I do know A series are.
Friend of mine imported A35 once from there (because dirt cheap) and it was made in india, while the ones sold in our country (EU) come from Vietnam.

And to add, first iPhone was 2007, first Galaxy S was 2010.
Who had a UI design/feature/function first does not and will never matter, all that matters is "is it implemented well enough" on whatever it is that we're using. This has been the tech industry for the last 40+ years.

A lot of samsung users are f... moreNot sure about Samsung but...in order for OnePlus to be able to sell phones in India they had to agree for the phones to be manufactured in India. I have had several OnePlus phones that were flawless and all of them were NOT made in India! They were made in various other Asian countries like Vietnam, etc., etc. Does Samsung also have to manufacture their phones in India the same as OnePlus? I also determined through the official OnePlus community that virtually all the hardware issues with various models were manufactured in India. YMMV
