And think about this the last chipset for mobile named Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 and this is the Gen 5 that has a Elite on the name included.

I have been using Xiaomi phones for a few years now and satisfied with them, maybe you can call me a mi fan because I will continue buying their phones. But even then, this year's phones naming convention is hard to justify. Sure the Pro/Pro Max make sense and Dell is already doing it with their laptops, but the jump from 15 to 17 in this exact timing is obviously an attempt to replicate iphone. While this sounds kinda fun (saying i have a 17 Pro Max then shows friends the xiaomi instead of iphone, kinda dumb but fun), any Xiaomi users must have questions in their heads now. This naming move is the worst thing xiaomi has done in at least a few years.
