Would've bought it if it used the 6 gen 4/7s gen 3 instead of the 6 gen 3/7s gen 2 (its based on 6 gen 1, and not even "better")

I've voted, "Yes I want one" but don't count me as a customer yet. Why?
I'm in India. Sony is not available in my country, for some weird reason, everything else is though (maybe except Asus).
Although, given the chance maybe I'd get the 1 VII itself for microSD and 3.5mm jack.

I put it on my list of phones I could buy, but it is at the bottom because of the price and ugliness.

It looses the signature slim 21:9 profile and over-priced, will hold and see if they will come up with a new "5" series.

Galaxy A56 was priced 425€ on a 1st day of release.
Sony if you by any chance read this (lol), you can't price your phone higher then the most popular western mid-ranger from Samsung.
This is a phone for you if you don't care for chipset performance and you don't play high demanding games. This is a phone for you if you want compact-ih phone without any dead pixels on screen.
The issue with Sony will always be the price and people expecting to go head on with other Chinese brands. NO! Noone would expect that from almost a non-existent brand in mobile space. That's like you want Fairphone to be more affordable, how when they production of phones is 10 or 20 or 30 or 50 or 100 or more times less then let's say Samsung and even Samsung are considered "expensive" because of zillion of Chinese phone models with better chipsets and lower price. Nobody can't beat Chinese brands if we talking about hardware. Nobody. But here you are people.. Comparing this phone with Redmi 15, because all you see is the chipset for buck. All you see is numbers in spec sheet. What about the software?
This is a phone for you if you want CLEAN Android UI. Motorola has it too, but it has adds and bloatware which you can't uninstall. A whole another story in Xperia. Their UI has even less bloatware then Pixel's UI. Some people would appreciate that clean "experiance".
This is a phone for people considering Google Pixel 9a. So why don't we start there as a true competitor this phone want to be?
I would not buy it because that's not the class of phone i would buy, but it is at least to consider as it have some good stuff. It's good to see they are trying after all those boring previous models. Just look what people here are commenting. They're saying how Xperia 10 downgrades in camera department, because it removes telephoto camera and the body is now made from plastic.
Do you guys listen to the words coming out from your mouth? Did you really see what Xperia has to offer so far?
How can a lousy telephoto 2x optical zoom with micro sensor size in combination with one of the smallest sensors for the main camera and its 1/2.0" be better then this set of camera sensors on 10 VII ? How? Im seriously asking you guys.
This is a step in right direction but to really scratch the surface... the most asked thing about series Xperia 10 series has always been a chipset.
People are waiting for Snapdragon 7 class of chipset to comeback for years. YEARS!!!
Xperia 10 models usually have a great battery life, but only if the chipset in use is made in TSMC factory, not Samsung like this Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 unfortunately is.
Maybe next year Sony eh? Lol. But definitely step in the right direction.

on a second note:
- Switch from:
- 50MP -> 48MP to make it look more sophisticated. Like Apple.
(Output 12MP images by default, instead of 12.5)
- 13MP -> 12MP UW
1080p 60fps on the FRONT. (Having 60fps on the selfie is super important for smoother video snapchats. It’s a bigger deal than you think)
Work with Google to fully support Android’s latest Camera API (camerav2 maybe?) just by doing that alone, photos & videos in social media apps will look tremendously better. (Just like they do on the main Sony camera app)

I forgot to add!
Make a PSP Emulator app that perfectly mimics the XrossMediaBar (XMB) allows you to directly buy PSP/PS1 games from PS Store. (Add DRM to make it exclusive to Xperia phones)
