Make a PSP Emulator app that perfectly mimics the XrossMediaBar (XMB) allows you to directly buy PSP/PS1 games from PS Store. (Add DRM to make it exclusive to Xperia phones)

This phone is the best phone Sony made in recent years.
It’s really difficult to convince somebody to pay up to a $1000 on a niche Sony phone that’s only sold in Japan.
The Xperia 10 series had good specs but the 60 Hz refresh rate was a bummer compared to Samsung’s A series. (Now solved)
But Galaxy A36 is still $100 cheaper than this + 1,000,000x more available to consumers worldwide + repair shops know how to repair it + has a US CDMA variant & so on…
Sony should just sell an international version everywhere, & then have a CDMA version just for the US. (No need to have LATAM/China-Only/India-Only versions like Samsung or Xiaomi does)
I think the update policy on this device is already too good. Sony’s clean software is a major plus but it should feel less barebones. Especially the first party Sony apps (Gaming overlay for example) all pf that should look better. (While still continuing to follow Google’s Material design guidelines)
aka: Do it the Motorola way (but without Ads/Pre-installed apps)
Steps Sony should take:
1- Trim the bottom chin & make your phones look like ‘Google Pixel 4’. (Keep the forehead & figure out how to cramp the front facing speaker in the bottom chin bezel)
2- Price it around $399.
3- Make a PS-branded Gaming app that emulates PC Games. (just like GameSir or Winlator)
4- Make that app available on other phones too, but give it a special feature that makes it work better on Xperia.
5- Add a desktop mode via Type-C (like Samsung Dex/Motorola’s)
6- Don’t hand over your larger sensors to be used by your competitor in a phone that is priced the same as Xperia 10.
Xperia 10 should be priced like the A36 not A56. Xperia 10 is about marketshare, not profit.

Headphone jack + not Chinese qualifies it for my all-too-short "would consider" list. I also really like microSD, stereo speakers, side fingerprint reader, plastic back, and no notch/holepunch. In fact, the only drawback might be the relatively weak chipset, but it still seems stronger than my old SD835 by most metrics, AFAICT. However, it looks like there won't be a US release (sadly understandable with tariff shenanigans), and I already got a ROG Phone months ago. Hopefully Sony's still making good, feature-complete phones in a few years. They might be the last ones by then...

Well, between the Pixel 9a screen's being absolute rubbish (use Dark Mode, you'll see) and Edge 50/60 Neo taking pics like they're 5 MP, you don't have any other option for a small-ish Android phone. It is what it is.

I have the xperia 10 iv. this is a downgrade. They took out the telephoto and the battery life is worse.

Asking 450 for something comparable to redmi 15 for 150 euros is ridiculous.
Even at 200 or 250 eur pricing i can find lot more and lot better devices.
Oneplus 13r here in Slovakia starts at 500 bucks just saying.
Motorola edge 50 ultra is from 600 for 16/1TB
A56 samsung can be bought around 350 now and A36 is around 250 now which is also a lot better device.
Poco X7 pro is around 250 here.
Motorola edge 60 pro starts at 440 eur.

Worst phone Sony has done to date. Instant no buy due to the year on year downgrades and it now looks like it’s made of the same grey plastic they use on buckets! Utter embarrassment at the price point. Before people say 3.5mm jack & SD card friend has a Redmi 10 with both for $100!

Sony is a joke in phone industry. A company that makes amazing camera sensors but their phone cannot take good photo despite having premium price tag.

If the price drops to max. 350 €... Even that is steep, but SD slot and 3.5mm jack is not easy to find today. Maybe during Black friday.

If only it got the snapdragon 7+ gen 3 or even 7+ gen 2, I would buy it in a heartbeat
