Which ones they choose to use are determined close to manufacturing. Poco started manufacturing their phones with the rectangle camera island years before Apple.

      Steve Jobs once said, "Innovation is defined by the ability to see change as an opportunity, not a threat." I believe Apple has strayed from this vision. The latest iPhone exemplifies this departure, prioritizing incremental updates over bold innovation. In contrast, Xiaomi remains one of the few strongholds that truly embodies Jobs' philosophy, consistently embracing change to drive groundbreaking advancements. Personally I think it's hilarious how bold Xiaomi became this time around. Good for them. The phone is gorgeous.

        The only companies that are trying to be somewhat original from apple are Nothing, Motorola, and Google.

That would give anyone with a shorter lead time (such as Xiaomi who makes Poco) plenty of time to steal Apple iPhone 17 Pro design and implement it in their product before the launch of the 17 Pro.

                                A little backstory, I owned Xiaomi 12 Pro and after 3 years I upgraded to Xiaomi 15 Ultra(Global version from Vodafone Romania). I got mine a couple of months after the release because I had to wait for the contract/monthly rates to end-up. I will be honest, I loved my 12 Pro it worked perfectly from day one despite some people say it was really smooth all 3 years accept the battery which seemed to discharge a bit faster(that's natural of course). But I DO admit that the software is weird a little. For example most of the themes can't be applied because they say they are not compatible with 12 Pro- are you shi!!1ng me ? The freakin top of the line phone can't use it's own ecosystem ? And if you think that after 3 years things would look better - in the words of Great Arnold Schwarzenegger- WRONG :). Now even NOW on Xiaomi 15 Ultra the top of the line (dude let that sink in) as in top over even many new phones out there, yes even is more performant than iPhone 17 Pro, can't use the themes. Despite that, Xiaomi phones are excellent even when haters accuse them of copying. Just look how pathetic the iPhone looks compared to the 'clone' , it looks like a dumb kids toy. Even though Xiaomi needs some upgrades the the software department, after 3 yeas from now I would still get a Xiaomi over iPhone.
