Are we about to see the next-gen under-display selfie camera?

Woah!? - This phone is severely underrated... GSMARENA put this more in the spotlight. Wow.

For the win, 26 Sep 2025If they just bring cameras from Z60 Ultra it would be insta... moreNope, it wasn't a downgrade, if they don't put variable aperture in the ultrawide camera, then you eighter can get a camera that has good lowlight performance, but very shallow depth of field, so macro images will be blurry, or you can get a camera with bad low light performance but big depth of field.

This image was taken with nubia Z60 Ultra's ultrawide camera, I don't think that it's okay that expensive flagship phones take such blurry macro images nowadays:

Genuinely love what they're doing with the Nubia Z phones. I think they would be way more popular if they sold them through carriers

It's 2025 and almost all phones still have a punch hole for the front camera

              Such a disappointment

RedMagic which is ZTE's other brand, already follows EU law regulation. All RM10 series will be updated 5 years now.

So was hoping the nubia Z flagship lineup will follow through.

Hopefully, it'll have a longer zoom reach for the telephoto camera too. The Z60 Ultra and Z50 Ultra still has a longer telephoto camera focal length than the Z70/Z70S Ultra.

Flagship smartphone without updates support and LTPO display. They must add these in the Z80.

The Xiaomi 17 Pro series shows that there is a better solution: put a secondary display round the main cameras so you can use them for selfies. Shame that they didn't do it properly and dispense with the punch hole camera on the front.

An under-display selfie camera would be ideal as long as it doesn't interfere with display quality. I don't care about the selfie camera quality: wide-angle cameras at short distance are never going to take a decent photo of the person no matter what their technical quality, and I'm never going to make a dick of myself by carrying a selfie stick.

Will ZTE/Nubia roll out Nebula AIOS 2 for Z70U users (like me, although it's not my daily driver) when the Z80U is released?

Glad to see the 17mm ultrawide is coming back. Good on them for learning from their mistake and listening to their customers. Hopefully they also bring back the Z60 Ultra's main 35mm camera.

It'll be interesting to see how the global releases will be considering the updates required within the EU. I mean I think it'll be interesting to see if they even release them in the EU considering their previously poor update policy.

If they just bring cameras from Z60 Ultra it would be instant win. They always had crazy good cameras even on something 40 Ultra. But last years Z70U was such a downgrade :/
