Windows 11's 2025 update is now rolling out

01 October 2025
It will however take a very long time for it to reach everyone.

Install a Linux distro and get better performance, less spying and malware put on to your device, will get better updates/software support, more stable software and if you have AMD tech, literally better gaming performance.

Windows 11 is beyond terrible.

Anonymous, 04 Oct 2025It wasn’t always like that on Windows.Well, they aligned with the rest of the industry.

Anonymous, 03 Oct 2025W11’s context menu is the worst!Whilst that maybe true its ridiculously easy to rectify.

WinAeroTweaker is freeware and trusted software that can revert the right click menu in a few clicks and also provides many other helpful features.

Classic Menu is freeware exclusively to revert the right menu.

Copy and pasting the below, then running in cmd (run as administrator) will revert the right click.

            reg add "HKCUSoftwareClassesCLSID{86ca1aa0-34aa-4e8b-a509-50c905bae2a2}InprocServer32" /f /ve

Regardless of above method used, apply the setting, log out and the change will be done.

Personally I use StartAllBack. Not only will it sort the right click it'll also put the start menu back to a previous way when all programs were listed. Plus the biggest thing for me that it does is you can change the top ribbon / bar in windows to Win 10. Win 11 got rid of dragging folders to the location in the top bar in later editions. Changing the ribbon restores that.

Windows 11's 2025 version is out and will reduce your battery life by 20%, while also stuttering more, but you will get more AI. Awesome news!

It comes with "Control" of your life, Microsoft is in form Control of your life 🤣

                        More promises, fewer fixes.

My 13th gen notebook is supposed to last 14 hours on battery. Whatever happens after 24h2 make it last 5 hours maximum. GPU power also dropped in a much noticeable manner.

Had to perform a factory restore and then block the 24h2 update by adding 3 registry keys. All fine ever since. Also got rid of prefetcher and most recently Windows Defender virus scanner.

In short I'm also skipping 25h2 unless MS talks about fixes and performance rather than features I don't need.

                          What's in it??? I don't know what's in it.

it's been out for 4 years now, i tried it, they broke a lot of things i found useful so i went back to 10. i tried again a few months ago and still needed explorerpatcher to make a lot of things function/look proper so i ditched it again. 10 is finished now so i am on kubuntu. never touching that 11 abomination again.

There are many options, my favorite is via the "Local Group Policy Editor", and when you apply the right values, the pc only search for updates when you manually do it in the Settings app.
                                        Google it and good luck.
