justasmile, 02 Oct 2025Rare time where it's Samsung who's late instead ... moreI am pretty sure Apple's "AI notifications" is something Apple wants you to forget about. It reminds people of how useless Apple is at software. Rushed, zero quality assurance and issues that are so fundamentally bad it literally caused pain and stress for people.

Rare time where it's Samsung who's late instead
Apple Intelligence did this first, and beside news summaries, it's not that terrible (I have it on M1 iPad Air). Can Samsung do better?

On the topic of degrading attention spans: have you all been paying attention lately (pun very much intended)? Come on guys, look around you!!!. You'll see people staring at screens everywhere—in cafés, bars, shops, on buses, and trains etc. The only thing that holds people’s attention these days is that damned screen! They may be franticly bouncing between various apps and media, but it’s all happening inside that little rectangle while the world just passes them by. Sometimes, I want to go over and gently nudge the screen aside just to take in the look of absolute bewilderment and confusion on the face behind it as they start to question what’s happening and where they are.
For me, a smartphone is just a tool, a means to an end, not an end in itself. I pay close attention to my screen time. So any feature that helps reduce the amount of time I need to spend looking at that screen is a welcome addition. A quick and accurate summary of my notifications that lets me know if there's anything I actually need to deal with immediately, well that does sound quite handy.
Now do I think Samsung will have any more success with this than their recent competitors? Probably not. However, features like this will improve, the "smart" in smartphones should never be taken as a fixed state after all.
In the end, If you truly dislike such features and the direction they are headed, well, there's always a dumb phone 🤷♂️

they're putting this AI crap everywhere and then claim that people buy the phones for the AI crap, misleading everyone in the process.

New consumer mind conditioning just dropped. Just like how Windows 7 malwares were normalized as user-experience enhancing telemetry in Windows 10. xD

In case you're too dumb to read 3 lines of a message. 🤣🤣🤣 Otherwise only Chinese phones spy, American and Korean ones "summarize with AI". 🤣🤣🤣
AI summarized: You received 7 x WOW, 3 x smiley faces, 2 x WTF dude, 7 x OK and 2 of your messages were seen without a reply. 🤣
