lol, 16 Oct 2013what are you talking about you obviously no nothing about 3... morePartly correct. The air time is from the network. They purchase it from them. The 3rd party buy the device from the manufacturer as you correctly state. The reseller are subsidising the phone cost rather than the network.

Check the price of the Samnsung Galaxy Note 3 on a 12 month contact through CPW. The £52 a month contract is £99 upfront through them. Through CPW it is £199. The £57 a month is £59 through VF and $189 through CPW. That is a considerable difference to me.

In any event to say that becuase a reseller is selling it on all networks that it is not exclusive directly is a factually incorrect statement.

A-Nice, 15 Oct 2013The htc one max isn't exclusive to Vodafone in the uk, from... moreActually you need to understand how this works which you clearly do not. You can get any phone through a 3rd party re-seller and then purchase air time from the network separately. That is exactly what the likes of P4U, CPW and Fonehouse do. Your contract is not with the network provider and they are not responsible for supporting you etc. The point is that the seller is the 3rd party, not the network. Hence why going to a network direct is most often cheaper,as they are cutting out the middle man. The only network that will be selling the phone direct to customers is Vodafone so the statement is quite correct.

Exclusivity is a luxury for devices people actually want. That is hardly the case here. They need to get this out through as many sources as possible to stand any of the lttle chance they have. Selling this at the same price at the Note 3 is suicide.

There is no need to worry about the sale of Max. Lots of people don‘t go to websites like Gsmarena, not that caring about the specs. What they konw is HTC just released a new phone. And it is big and beautiful ! They may still buy this phone.

John, 14 Oct 2013Going bust? Are you high mate? Think you need to do some re... moreActually, he is right. Inferior specs compared to the Note 3 which it's supposed to go against. 5.9 inch display with the same resolution, that bloody 4MP camera. They are already late with shipments for the One and One Mini, this will not be any better. So, they either need to admit that they are going down and kick it in, or they should just let Lenovo buy them. Oh, yeah, before I forget, carrier exclusivity will get you nowhere.

Snapdragon 600 with the Adreno 320, is still fairly quick, also I imagine in the real world it is quick enough for the high majority of users.

Some people may prefer the HTC Sense overlay compared to Touchwiz.

I know when gsmarena and other sites do vs with the Note 3 that the Note will win the majority of tests.

The only thing is that I hope for HTC that it is only a timed exclusive in the UK with Vodafone.

The day HTC's fortunes might change is the day when it ditches the UltraPixel camera and puts up a friggin' microSD slot and a beefier battery on its phones.

Gotta say as a HTC supporter this is a poor show.
Its no better than the two rubbish Samsung Mega phones

I was hoping the 600 snap was a rush job for Verizon and China, but alas NOT.

They should have just squeezed a bigger battery into the ONE and added an SD card for those that don't know how to use an OTG cable and that would have made a much better phone.

I dont care about skinny or bent phones a bit of power and a good battery (job done)

I bet they went with this because they already started a BIG phone just after they released the original ONE then added the fingerprint scanner after hearing rumours about Apple.

So here's hoping by the time my contract is up that they have the SnapDragon 1000 and 4gig of ram with a 4000mah battery :(

Sony look like they are about to become number 3 outright
