    Anonymous, 08 Nov 2025The extreme ugly design is the biggest dealbreaker.It's very ugly. Cheap looking also. I've seen pre launch renders that were looking so much better. Black camera island and different (polished silver maybe) camera rings would have looked so much more premium without a need for black body color. Current PRO color selection is a disaster.

          Apple has become so lazy that they sell last year's products as new ones with barely any improvements. Android OEMs are now leaps and bounds better in all departments except for battery life and performance (but the gap has been reduced significantly).

              Yes, it is. In the 4th set of the telephoto camera comparison (The blue crane shots), zoom into the fences in the balcony. Some of the vertical columns are mushed together on the 16 Pro, while they are actually much defined on the 17 Pro.

              Absolutely not true, 8x Shots from the 16 Pro aren't sharper or more detailed in any way. It looks like they put the cropped image into some kinds of AI upscaler to invent details, as straight lines seem to disappear or get distorted randomly, and areas of uniform colours have a weird patchy noise to them (which somehow gets worse in areas surrounded by high contrast borders - For instance, in the crane shot, blue sky visible through the crane's structure is noisier than the rest of the sky). The 17 Pro's 8x shots are much cleaner, and the textures look a lot more natural in comparison.

                I wouldn't waste money on the 16 Pro at this point, unless you can get it significantly cheaper. Why? 12GB of RAM, and base 256GB storage on the 17 Pro. You would end up having to spend nearly the same price if you want 256GB iPhone 16 Pro. And considering all iPhone 18 models would be getting 12GB of RAM, there's a simple deduction that iOS27 will have features only for models with 12GB of RAM.

                A wilder comparison would be between the iPhone 16 Pro and the iPhone 17.

                  It is generally understood that a more recent iPhone model offers advantages over its immediate predecessor. Your budget will ultimately influence your decision

                    Thanks for this long waited comparison guys. It's clear that 16pro is the way to go. 17pro is pure marketing product without subtle black color and ugly look.

                      So marketing BS with 50MP Quad bayer on a small sensor strikes again (like with S25 Ultra and 50MP Quad bayer UW which has the same quality as 12MP Traditional bayer from previous gens) its funny that 12MP Traditional bayer from 16 Pro performs way better on all zoom ranges than that overhyped crap of a camera with Quad bayer, in 18 Pro Apple probably will put that 12MP sensor back but upscale it with software as a Fake 50MP and it will perform better than this nonsense from 17 Pro.
