Great!
Next most phone manufacturers should be sued for locking down the bootloader on most devices.
There is lots of money $$$ to be made here for the regulators.

Now, everything digital you use is USA controlled. And you expect me to be thankful for Android which literally owns everything we have digitally.
    Everything.
Wait, what full picture were you talking about again?

Older people (and the majority) don't care, they just want to install apps without the fuss of looking how or even troubleshooting problems.

A proposed option is to have a screen while setting up phone that you can disable installation of play store and start from scratch (like you said, those main apps)

I can smell all kind of scam in near future happening once google is forced to allow outside payment. trust me those evil scammers will exploit this loophole sooner or later.

I'm not sure this is a good idea.

One important thing that makes me confident about buying apps on my phone, especially Android (where you can more easily find anything and everything since it's a fairly open OS), is the fact that I trust the Play Store's purchasing mechanism.

If developers started putting anything and everything as a payment processor, I'd be the first to run away because of all the scam that one can find. On the other hand, this could mean that we'll have payment processor competitors a bit like Stripe... Let's wait and see

Not a big deal for me.

Many criticized Epic but it did benefit consumers after all.
