Still very cheap relatively, prices of the smartphones last year were cheaper compared to this year.
In India this should cost around 27770 INR for the 32 GB version, will grab this on day one unless the reviews are not so pleasant

I truly thought that Google would keep the same prices as the Nexus 4. The only thing that has upgraded from this phone from the last Nexus is the screen and the snapdragon SoC. Nothing really has changed. If not $299 for 16gb version that just $50 more would have still made Google ALOT of money! This is depressing. I bet a alot of people are probably not going to buy this phone now that it is this much. Oh well. I am still looking to buy it.

I don't know how reliable gsmarena is for this kind of information but if it's $399 that's a big let down. I'm really hoping on $299 like the Nexus 4.
$400 is not exactly "cheap" like the Nexus phones are said to be. I mean N4 was $199 a couple weeks ago, half the price of this. It's a fair price but by no means an amazing deal anymore.

Irrespective of the cost 2300mAh battery on a 5 inch LCD is gonna pe crap no matter how efficient the cores are.all nexuses had poor battery life...n this one ain't different!!!!

That was a massive let down, I was planning to go for the nexus 5 if the price was similar to the nexus 4. Shame, Google could have taken over the phone market if they had just kept their phones at prices where their competitors just can't compete against.

I don't know about you guys, but where I live (Hungary) this 400$ price tag would be awesome for a flagship phone.
Here the iPhone 5s price without contract is 1094 USD, Galaxy S4 price is 593 USD without contract. Xperia Z1 is 775 USD. So stop whining about price too high...

Not impressive anymore then. I would rather add 100 USD more and get a far better camera and battery in something like the LG G2 or Note 3.

Nexus 5 32GB: $350
Nexus 4 LTE 16GB: $230
Nexus 4 LTE 32GB: $280
