But I think over the years, especially between 2019-2023, Oppo and Vivo have distanced themselves from iOS in terms of their software. For example, by the time ColorOS 11 and Funtouch OS 11 were released, both skins seemed to have their own design, even if somewhat uninspired. And there was Vivo's OriginOS, which is like a different take on iOS' flat style.
...And now they're back to shamelessly copying Apple again.

NeonHD, 11 Oct 2025Anyone else find that Chinese companies are trying way too ... moreThey always were copying Apple UI heavily, think of Huawei, Honor, Xiaomi and other brands, they were copying their designs since the beginning and they haven't changed in years, they still look like cheap copies of Apple when it comes to UI. Logical explanation to this I've seen is that in China (where market is huge and Chinese companies aim for that) Apple is considering luxury, premium brand and most people there adore Apple designs, so this is why Chinese companies are doing that, also no need to waste money on making your own UI design language.

Nice, another brand to avoid. This Apple design is awful and i hate that everyone is copying it. Seems like Google, Nothing and maybe Motorola are only options left if you don't want a UI that copying Apple's already awful UI but it looks even cheaper and tasteless.

But I have a problem when these companies blindly copy something that not everyone likes.
It's like fashion trends, I never get them! This stupid designer designs this awful looking outfit and it gets trending on tiktok, and everyone wants to copy that outfit despite it being awful.
Yes I know, "beauty is subjective", blah blah. I am for one who actually disagrees with that statement.

Like, I know this has been the case for over a decade now, but recently it seems that these businesses are just absolutely DOWN BAD for Apple. It's just too much.
I'm betting AI has something to do with these horrible decisions. That and hypercapitalism.

But even macOS 26 is nothing like Vista, because apps on macOS don’t have borders. Apple presents Liquid Glass in its own way, obviously not from Vista. Vista has nothing for Apple to copy.

OSX 10 from 2001 period i.e. Cheetah, Leopard were nothing like vista introduced after. OS X all was like greyish tone, where Vista completely had glass tone with colour themes. What Apple copied now. And also trollboy the newer Apple integration towards more to Aero theme than Aqua theme. Spend more time to study what your fanbase never do.
