12 October 2025
Should phones be filtered by how thick they are when folded or unfolded? What about width and height?

While we're at it, can we have Google Tensor, Unisoc, and Apple Axx chipset support?

My 2 cents; to me the choice of folded/open is not the question, as soon as all are compared on the same basis... you should rather distinguish BOOK style foldable from FLIP style foldable in the filter options because that matters

It should give you the ability to filter by either the folded or unfolded dimension.

Ideally all bootloaders would be unlockable, but in practice, it really just depends on so many ridiculous factors that it wouldn't be worth it

As others mentioned, I think all should be included by default, and there should just be a filter to select the folded or unfolded state, or none at all – so those who don't want to see foldable results can just deselect it. It'd offer the best of both worlds.

By default, it could search for the folded state, but this would still need to be a filter.

when you're at it. remove the smartwatches from phone finder. (give them their own finder just like tablets)

constipation, 12 Oct 2025I think not only about foldables, there's a lot to be ... moreBody to screen ratio.
All phones have it in their specific sheet. I don't know how we luck the filter.
It's important to know how much of a space economy a freaking phone is practicing. It's one of the primary things I look apart from battery. And while i can filter for battery (I.e. autonomy) I can't for body to screen ratio (space economy), which along with thickness give you the total portability of the phone.

Heres the improvements phone finder/GSMarena in general needs

-List the Google Tensor cpus in the chipset list
-Update the chipset list with refreshed chipsets or chipsets with boosted clocks (One example is the Dimensity 7350 Pro inside the Nothing Phone (2A) Plus. Using the Any Dimensitty tickbox, readers would not come across that phone)
-Reviews of alternate android phone os's, such as Graphene OS, Ubuntu Touch, Sailfish, MoculaOS
                    -Reviews of Volla phones
-Region tick boxes (USA, India, China, Europe, etc) in the phone finder page so users can find phones available in their part of the world and make it easier to differentiate similar phones that release in multiple regions

-In the OS section of phones, more phones should have how many android versions they are getting (Example, in the S24 Ultra's os section it says up to 7 major android upgrades)
                    - 1 Billions Colors Support/68 Billion Colors Support tickbox(s)
-Tick boxes for different gorilla glass (3, 4, 5, Victus, 7i, etc)
-List in the OS section of phones if they are compatible with other android OSs (examples being Google Pixel 6/7/8/9/Fold series being compatible with Graphene OS. Sony's Xperia XA2 series, 10, 10 Plus, 10 II, and 10 III being compatible with Sailfish. Fairphone 3/3+/4. Google Pixel 3a/3a XL. Oneplus' Nord N100, Nord N10 5G, Oneplus 5, Oneplus 5T, Oneplus 6, Oneplus 6T. Xiaomi's Poco X3/NFC, Redmi Note 9S, Redmi 9 Pro, Redmi 9 Pro Max, Poco M2 Pro, Redmi Note 9 Pro (Global), Mi 6. Asus' Zenfone Max Pro M1. Volla Phone, Volla Phone 22, Volla Phone X23, Volla Phone X. All compatible with Ubuntu Touch (I realize some of these phones are old or not reviewed but it would helpful to users who may have held on to these phones for financial or sentimental reasons to continue getting updates when updates from the manufacturer have stopped)

GSMArena, it's a filter. Include ALL. Folded and Unfolded.

                        Again. It is a FILTER.

I think not only about foldables, there's a lot to be revamped in Phone Finder's filtering, and the spec sheet itself, from the ability to know phone's thickest part, to ability to filter auxillary camera features like focal length, periscopes, sensor sizes.

I wish there was a filter for screen size in cm². The diagonal is meaningless without a standard aspect ratio

I would put a check-box to include phones, foldable phones, tablets, or watches. If there are other categories or would also help view by category, for a user to search by size by year by manufacturer etc and get to know their devices by searching.

A different opinion. Can you people test the loudness of every phone and tablet that is added to your site. If a device has 2 versions ( physically same but named different loke the Moto G Stylus 2025 & Edge 60 Stylus even then since both won't be releasing together in any country). Also if a phone has a physical sim & only e-sim variant, if there is any difference in the loudness, then please add that.

ProMaxUltraAreBricks, 12 Oct 2025Would be great to have cameras bump thickness too !Mainly on the "ultra-thin" phones, like the iPhone Air, S25E, etc. Also include combined thickness.

Speaking of the phone finder, I would also like to request a checkbox for Autofocus on the Front facing (Selfie) camera.
I think that could also be useful
