If you are looking for high-quality photos and versatility, then mirrorless or DSLR cameras are the best choice. However, if convenience is your priority, a smartphone would be the better option.

The only problem with Xiaomi is its HyperOS which is still unpolished, not optimised still has ads on most devices inside of apps even though there is an option to turn off ads , ads should not be inside of apps. One more thing , Xiaomi should give 7 years of android updates and security updates to it's flagship series.

📲 there is no international satellite communication, except for James Bond's 😁. Elon Musk talked about such a "Tesla 📲", but most of his talk is wind and fog 🤷🏻.

It is mainly people who could never afford a DSLR camera and therefore have no idea about photography who enjoy fancy camera island systems and high pixel counts.

Like people will ever needs to use satelite conections.
Maybe for those minorities who do hiking and going to places where is no signal. Othervise for a casual person this is not usefull ability in his her phone.
Its like having a second spare tyre on a car.

Just curious, is there any smartphone that has already supported global satellite communication (not just limited to china or US region) ?
I mean, if I was stranded on the sea between Australia and the south pole, this Xiaomi 17 Ultra wouldn't be able to help me... or would it?

As far as I'm aware, satellite communication on Chinese phone are only bound for China. I don't doubt there will be two version of 17 Ultra, with one of them locked for China market only. It's like what Huawei is doing with Mate Pro/Pro+ and Pura Pro/Pro+, with the Pro+ being a China-only model with satellite communication support.
