Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy tipped to be manufactured by Samsung

12 October 2025
It will likely be based on Samsung's 2nm manufacturing process.

Anonymous, 13 Oct 2025Ok so we will skip Samsung this year Possibly not. We all assumed Samsung nodes was responsible for the terrible tensor G4 but the G5 isn't any better since moving to TSMC. The exynos 2500 in the flip is a solid processor with great thermals considering the form factor so I wouldn't be too concerned if Samsung manufacture the snapdragon.

Anonymous, 13 Oct 2025Ok so we will skip Samsung this year you can skip 2-3 generations of chips, honestly
no need in new soc every year

Ok so we will skip Samsung this year

Does this mean that TSMC is still doing the fabrication for the standard OEM issue of 8 Gen 5?

Whatever. Its for galaxy only anyways

It may or may not trun out to be gud in samsung's part 〽️ but definitely going to be a best opportunity for their own testing ground in fact it's a better decision if come true it's obviously not gona be the Chip for the Main series device like the S26/ege/ultra so let it be on the FE series or other Mid range ones has mentioned it's 8-gen5 not elite-gen5 who knw's may come out to bee better in terms of optimization & improved thermal's in their research time they took to ask back

the "for galaxy" should have be made on samsung founderies, not on tsmc, for well obvious reason.

Since Google recently showed us that the problem with their Tensor chips wasn't Sams fab maybe now Samsung will do better than with ruined generation of phones with 8 Gen 1

Will be interesting to see how Samsung 2nm compares to TSMC 3nm in an Apples to apples comparison

SlapDragonElite, 13 Oct 2025i'm confused. what is this. overclock version of 8elit... moreSamsung has had a special "for Samsung" deal with Qualcomm for years. It's part of a deal for them not to use Exynos without Qualcomm modems. Unfortunately, big corps tends to make big deals that just ends up costing us consumers a lot more for no good reason.

if Samsung's 2nm is hotter and less power efficient than TSMC's 3nm, then it will become the laughing stock

                              So , Samsung 2nm matches TSMC 3nm.

i'm confused. what is this. overclock version of 8elite gen 5 or next gen of 8s gen 4? what de f is wrong with qualcomm now

                                  - Z Flip 8 - SD 8 Gen 5 Elite
