Here is something for y'all to ponder. Why telescope is so freaking huge? Even the affordable one are big if you compare it to DSLR camera. Why? Here the explanation. The way the image sensor captured images is not by how powerful the zoom capable of. It's how much light the sensor can get. With a tiny zoom lens like this whatever Vivo X300 kits are or similar. It will still captured not so good imagine and color production. Hence why, the software algorithm A.K.A "Computational photography" or filter or effects or whatever you want to call it, comes to play. It will edit the image to fake the color, saturation, contrast and etc etc to make it loo

Another topic is that using this kind of mount on lens doesn't get me the quality that I would want from such a specialized tool to be worth spending money and the loss of ergonomics of carrying, mounting and dismounting. It seems low contrast, fuzzy, just not sharp. I don't know why I should want to use that.

Guru, 15 Oct 2025Vivo should make a smartphone with optical zoom like Samsun... moreAgree. The quality suffers to the point, which I ask myself, if I want to spend money to get this kind of fotos. The case itself I consider as a usefull piece of hardware with the extra battery and improved ergonomics. But 200mm is too much a niche focal length to spend money getting a lens, which doesn't even produce that high of a quality fotos.

Bring K Zoom, 14 Oct 2025Just bring Samsung Galaxy K Zoom back already since it had ... moreIt was only able do perform that zoom range due to the tiny sensor (1/2.3").
With a larger sensor, it wouldn't be possible at anywhere near the same thickness.
It was still massively thicker than today's phones. The Galaxy k zoom (16.6mm) was more than double the thickness of the X300 Pro (8mm).
As far as thickness concerning technology, it already had AMOLED display. So not really anything they can reduce thickness on.

I mean, many people compared this telephoto extender to regular digital camera and claimed that phone cameras have better picture quality... or is it?

These add on zoom kits just produce low quality zoom photos, not much useful. At 200mm there's significant quality loss in the samples, which is clearly evident.

Bs. Lens over a tiny poor sensor which already have own plastic lens? no thanks. This chinese companies will never improve. If they really want they would've make proper lens mount on top of the bare 1" sensor along with interconnects but no, they just sought quick attention.
