    The extreme test may have exposed it, however it seems not to be related to the test itself.

    From time index 7:26 fire starts THEN Zack Nelson at time index 8:50 states a "reason" for the battery's short circuit.

    Worst-case scenario battery design (and) &/or battery placement.
    Either one could potentially be the sole cause, together the proximity of each caused this cascade.

Take TWS stuff and compare them to something like the Sennheiser HD600. 20+ year old headphones that are still going strong.

                          He didnt talk about software nor about the use of latest hardware but rather durability. And I mean rugged phones are indeed more durable than normal glass sandwich stuff. Horrendous value phones? Sure. Questionable quality? i dont think so.
