Complain to them My bad, I wasn’t clear enough: it’s a OnePlus proprietary OxygenOS Telephony provider that doesn’t ask for user permission, leading to SMS/MMS leaks (including 2FA codes). Present in OxygenOS 12 to 15, it was only fixed a few days ago. Search on the internet about it, researchers are Rapid7.
                      Not related to Google.

                          And this was just one known vulnerability…

                          It seems it’s more important to copy iOS features than fixing their OS. Chinese priorities, I guess.

                                      what do these updates even contain that takes so long to roll out? Back in the day each android upgrade felt like a significant shift whereas now it feels like a monthly patch. In video game terms, instead of a sequel it feels like we're getting DLC add-ons. No reason to take so long to roll-out so slowly nowadays. Phones dont even change much from generation to generation.
