They incur more costs by making their phones with two different chipsets but doing that out of greed? No one incurs more costs out of greed. And Samsung doesn't make 2 chips. They're making two versions of their phones with different chips. One version with chips that they have to pay another company (Qualcomm) to supply.

It's simple, Exynos gives them higher profit margins so they keep selling it in regions they can get away with. I wouldn't mind Exynos if it meant that phones were cheaper but paradoxically, most places where exynos is sold have higher prices.
So yeah, there's no excuse for this. Either lower prices, improve the chip or use the same chip. This is just pure greed.

No other phone maker does this because it introduces all sorts of inefficiencies in the production of their phones. They have to at least engineer and produce two mainboards, one for each chip, and build 2 versions of their operating system. Not to mention not being able to recoup all of the cost of their R&D for the Exynos chip because a proportion of their revenue gets diverted to Qualcomm. I am always in support of Samsung just using and improving their Exynos chips. However, it seems that's the price they have to pay to enter and sell in the US market.

Some people here said that there is conflict in us about modem patents that's why exynos can't be used. What about China and Japan. They also have patent problems? Or Samsung is just double standard company whose chip can't compete with competitor's previous year chips?

But the fact is, that most people can't accept, Exynos has mostly caught up to competition. And snapdragon, while still superior, isn't exactly cheap. And if you compare the chip prices, in my eyes Samsung is trying it's best to sacrifice profits in LSI division while also improving Exynos.
