Even if this chip is top-notch, I'd rather see and hear praise for it for a year, then if it really works, I'll consider buying the next generation.

There was a time when Exynos was more efficient than Snapdragon up until 2016.
https://m.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_s7_edge_battery_life_both_exynos_and_snapdragon-blog-17325.php
Once Snapdragon 835 came out in 2017 and emulators improved around 2019 and were more compatible to Snapdragons, Qualcomm became the preferred choice.
I personally think we should give Exynos a shot. We cannot have a monopoly or Qualcomm will continue to raise prices.

Ieatapplesforlunch, 20 Oct 2025Be honest, most people hate exynos because it has the name ... moreExynos has nearly a decade history of under performing. I do remember when they were better than snapdragon like with Galaxy S6 Note 4 and all.

I don't mind having the Exynos chip. Exynos 2400 on Galaxy S24+ has been a solid experience.

jiyen235, 20 Oct 2025bro the s22 ultra had the exynos, the s24 had exynos. In so... moreExynos 2200 had better node than 8 gen 1 and I didn't hear much reports on it being significant cheaper.
But 2400? It was almost half price of 8 gen 3 direct cost + other indirect cost that's huge savings, that's why last year S24 were much cheaper in Europe and other Exynos markets compare to Snapdragon markets like China and USA.
Consumer would always pick €600 galaxy S series over €800 irrespective of soc used.

Be honest, most people hate exynos because it has the name "Exynos" and praise Snapdragon because of it's name, "Snapdragon". It's like "racism" but for fanboys. We can't judge something just by it's past or it's association with failures.
99% of people here already claim Exynos 2600 is a failure, as if they themselves made and designed the chips. And the prejudice that an unreleased chip is already worse than competition, is what's polluting the internet.
Take the example of Exynos 2400. Samsung understood it's 2200 failure, took a whole year to redesign and 2400 was very close to success. Almost 99% same as the competition 8 gen 3. The same way, Snapdragon 8 Elite wasn't a complete success either. All the power but at the same time way more heating than 8 gen 2 or 3. Proving me wrong won't help, real users including me know 8 elite is a hot mess at max power. But again, 8 Elite was profoundly assumed to be the best most thermally efficient chip even before it was launched.
The more we hate the exynos tag, the worse the next generation is. And the more expensive the new Snapdragon gets. We are at a level Mobile Gaming matching entry level PC gaming. If Snapdragon maintains a monopoly, expect an "Nvidia 5090" situation with prices.
I am damn sure Exynos 2600 will not be a dissapointment. At the same time, 8 Elite Gen 5 has also turned out very good. If Exynos actually surpasses 8 Elite Gen 5 with thermal management and GPU (it is already at par with CPU as per latest benchmark runs), we will see a shift in chipset market soon.

DarlingYext, 20 Oct 2025Nah US gets a better chip for less money.
That means mos... moreWhile I totally agree with Samsung’s bad decisions to force their garbage Exynos on certain markets (like on the some S previous series).
Apple almost did the same recently for their 17 Pro’s battery capacity (US got larger battery capacity non-eSIM, while everyone got Air non-eSIM).
And let alone smaller smartphone manufacturers like Vivo and Oppo, not releasing their ultra-flagship globally. Forcing global users to get a worse version of their phone.
“if one want a [Vivo/Oppo ultra] flagship device in a country where they only sell [base and Pro] variant, then they will buy the more expensive [Pro] version, even if they wanted the snapdragon variant [along better cameras and ultra features], that's not a choice.”
Or they can import the Ultra they want (just like they can import the Samsung US Snapdragon variant), but that implies no warranty, not correct bands, and potential region lock features.
Anyway, this is common practice, and we will have to wait and see the real performance of this new Exynos (looks too good to be true on paper).
