The idea of desktop in a mobile is part of the reason Windows Phone failed. I hope Ubuntu doesn't go down the same drain. Mobile UI calls for a virtually different experience from Desktop UI.

You have to understand that this is extremely powerful desktop operating and if works will bring phone and desktop to users. Just think about it. Having your desktop computer with you at all times. All you need is a monitor, well and special cable. I really love this idea. Granted I do love and enjoy Android for many years now, but I am open to suggestions and this idea is right up my alley. Also, a OS that available for now specific device but all android (I guess mostly high-end) devices. IF you have not tried a Ubuntu Live CD, you really should. And let me tell you something if you don't play games, Ubuntu is the way to go for your main OS on your PC, because back in a day I needed a lot of Windows programs to do everyday work, not anymore. With Google docs and build in Ubuntu software no need to have Windows, who knows may be I'll say same thing about Android one day.

If it means my phone doesn't come with default spying bloatware like facebook, twitter, google hangouts, google + then I am all for it.

Ubuntu is a very powerful operating system. This will be the next big thing for smart phone OS model
                          .

Android is the best at the. Moment.

                              That's 13.10 where 13 is 2013 and 10 is october, not 13.1.

                              13.4 was april 2013.

Why these guys do redundant OSes instead of writing some useful code? It is no need of Ubuntu on phones.

i wonder, who first will make it possible to connect- usb printer, few 2TB exthdds, 4k LCD, mouse and keyboard -to mobile phone(with dock).
why its still not here if slow xy-years old pc it can do.
with hdd,pc-s stagnating, mobiles can do almost all or even more with low power.

Great. Its nice to have multiple oses to choose from.
By the way, any word on Ubuntu for Android. I use my S2 with (bt keyboard and mouse) my tv a lot for browsering, listening to music, watching movie streamed via wifi from my PC, and a 1080p native resolution dektop like interface would be nice.
