The iPhone Air has failed to gain significant traction, at least for now.

Jamais Vu, 24 Oct 2025I consider this karma for killing the Mini line.agree 💯 💯

6.3 inches is just not compact (the size that companies today make, and then call it compact 🤡)

iPhone mini was real compact

They could've just re-introduced the iPhone mini, and with the new battery tech, the capacity can be made better

Instead we get this slim 🗑️ that no nobody asked for

That "tiny" UW is actually perfectly normal sized, it's about the same size as the one on the S25 Ultra, or the base S25 (but higher resolution than that one, plus AF), it's just that the X200 Ultra is in a league of its own with the largest ultrawide camera on any phone.

DarlingYext, 24 Oct 2025"Edge battery is still larger than the Air, it is just... more😂😂... Stop it buddy, this comment is hilarious.

iPhone Air (all colors and storage sizes) are the only iPhone in stock at my local retailer, obviously because nobody is buying them. In contrast, the iPhone 17 and 17 Pro are consistently out of stock when I check.

                People can't be this dense.

Apple releases an inferior product(left over unused materials) at a premium price and wonder why sales are down....

Of course the product "failed" they wanted it to...
The Air should start at $699 given it's compromises

ProMaxUltraAreBricks, 24 Oct 2025Edge battery is still larger than the Air, it is just an ol... more"Edge battery is still larger than the Air, it is just an older generation device."

Yes it's larger, it just doesn't last longer, and battery degradation won't change that.

What kind of excuse is "older generation device"? The Galaxy S25 Edge is from this year, it's barely 6 months old at this point, some markets just started selling it a month or so ago.

"And battery life depends on daily user usage. Plus, the Edge has the benefit of being able to enable battery saver mode with 120Hz.."

Woah so awesome. The Air doesn't need battery saver mode to get through a day.

"Both iPhone 17 / Air and S25 have old similar midrange main sensors."

Maybe so, but newer iPhones like the Air default to shooting in 24MP, instead of 12MP like the S25, which is just the perfect in-between resolution, to get good enough detail without huge file sizes.

they failed because they didn't add any physical simcard slot like other models.

Do these analysts know what just-in-time manufacturing is? This is not something extraordinary.

iPhone mini with bigger silicon battery plz .

There is nothing good that would come from me lying about this, this is a niche product, people who want one already know it. Oh btw it's called iPhone Air, not 17 Air.

Not surprising, I cannot help but see this 'thin' phone thing as anything more than an attempt to create a fad.....

DarlingYext, 24 Oct 2025"An iPhone 17 Plus would have completely destroyed the... moreEdge battery is still larger than the Air, it is just an older generation device.

And battery life depends on daily user usage. Plus, the Edge has the benefit of being able to enable battery saver mode with 120Hz, which could make the Edge as good, if not better, than the Air in terms of battery life, for longer.

I had to do this on my X200 Ultra to further improve battery life, while keeping necessary 120Hz.

And my base iPhone 17 cameras are nothing flagship-like, if comparing only the main camera with my X200U: iPhone 17 photos lack details while video is stuttering and HDR is flickering, all even more noticeable in low light, and let alone on the tiny UW.

Surely because the base 17 and Air don’t have the same main large sensor as the Pro.
Base 17 and Air have the IMX904, which dates back to the iPhone 15 at the end of 2023.
Just like the base S25 has the similar GN3 main sensor dates back to the S23 FE / 24 also at the end of 2023 / beginning of 2024.
Both iPhone 17 / Air and S25 have old similar midrange main sensors.
