iPhones camera will always be a step behind Vivo and Xiaomi Ultras because they are more concern with the thickness of the overall phone. They will never put a 1" sensor main with a 1/1.4" telephoto sensor on the same camera.

iPhone 20 will get amazing camera upgrades, but the terrible part is, since Vivo X300 Pro already smokes it the current iPhone, by the time they push out iPhone 18PM and then iPhone 20PM, Vivo X500 Pro won't be smoking the iPhone, it will punch it down a mountain.

Tech Guy , 28 Oct 2025Why no iPhone 19 Series ??!!! Isn't now 17 Series ???!!2027 = 20 year anniversary of iPhone so we get the iPhone 20 instead of iPhone 19. Just like 2017 was 10 year anniversary of iPhone and we got iPhone 10 instead of iPhone 9.

And even if they are... moreAs phones & computers keep getting more and more powerful, developers are getting high off the fact that they don't have to do heavy optimization to make their apps run better anymore. Not only does this mean that older hardware uses more power, gets hotter, and performs dramatically worse, but this is also the reason that phones have been stuck at single day battery life for so long. If apple and google enforced stricter optimization requirements(Google would also have to heavily optimize play services), not only would older devices be much more capable without any hardware upgrades, but battery life would be much better as well.
As for what these apps are doing to warrant the need for extra performance, the answer is literally nothing. As developers add new features, they add extra code instead of just rewriting the whole portion. as all this extra code builds up, it just means that a bunch of extra processing needs to happen to achieve a simple result. It's kinda like driving around the entire block just to go to your next door neighbor's house

About time, because Oppo/Xiaomi/Vivo Ultra phones have been taking iPhones out to lunch for the past two generations. Apple would do well, if it diverted an additional 1% of it's marketing budget to actual R&D.

It would finally be as good as Android devices have been for years.
Apple lags behind in terms of hardware and software. Huawei has already used Lofic sensor and variable aperture, Samsung put the variable aperture in its S9 back in the day. Base iPhones have only 60hz refresh rate while Android has had 120hz for many years. Android gives you full control of your device, while iOS has minimal manual settings. There are many more examples.

They're gonna do it, i assure you, they're going to make some phone that'll make the x200 ultra look like a toy. But that'll be 10 years later. They're going to milk the innovations as much as they can.
You don't get to being the most valuable company in the world by doing nothing. What they're doing is great business and the profits speak for themselves. I respect them as someone interested in business but i hate them as a consumer lol
