Are we really starting with the crappy "leaks" again? Those have been brought up before. They were wrong.

The most annoying thing with Apple apologists is how they always have to pre-own everything. Just in case it is the next thing. That's essentially been Apple's mobile business model since day one. Take whatever everyone else develop and claim it an Apple innovation.

This is the definition of gimmick:
Something that offers no advantage, but is used to replace something else in order to arouse the customers' curiosity and create a hype.

Anonymous, 28 Oct 2025Just like the article said with solid state buttons.
Exa... moreCool info, reminds me of HD Rumble used in Nintendo Switch.
It doesn't use a vibration motor but speakers instead, yet people could swear it vibrates.
Same with TouchID it's haptic feedback.

Idkxx, 28 Oct 2025how would it be powered on without buttons ?Just like the article said with solid state buttons.
Examples are TouchID on iPhone 8, 8 Plus SE 2nd and 3rd gen and Airpods.
The button is not a button, but a area with haptic feedback which truly feels like a real button.
Problem is that it is also kinda stupid, it requires more hardware, uses more space for that and the only pro it has is that physically it doesn't wear like a regular buttons does and water can't come in.
Same tech it used in Steam Deck it's touchpads, and while the effect is a bit less convincing like on Apple products, it has comparable logic where there is no button, haptic feedback makes you feel like you press it.
However on Steam Deck that makes more sense, same with Airpods.
Less with TouchID or with a buttonless iPhone.

I don't think that's a good idea, that decision has already destroyed a smartphone company. R.I.P HTC.
