Once you do, it's quite easy to replace parts.

The most unfortunate part is that this isn't an apple thing, it's an industry wide problem with tablets. Pretty much every single tablet on the market, from Samsung, to Microsoft, to apple, and even to the Chinese manufacturers overseas, has a large, fragile, and expensive display panel that needs to be removed in order to access the components underneath, and all of those screens are heavily glued down, especially on Microsoft and Samsung devices.

God forbid if backs would be screwed in instead of glued in. This goes for all devices, not just Apple's. Exposed screws can look nice in own industrial way.
