Anonymous, 06 Nov 2025Since when is the next 256 GB of storage worth $250?It won't be long before it happens, given the high price of UFS4 storage. You can easily buy two 1TB SanDisk Extreme Pro (not the vanilla Extreme) microSD cards with excellent file transfer speeds and still have some spare capacity for other accessories, which is one of the main reasons I always stick with Sony phones.

Anonymous, 05 Nov 2025I never payed more than 500€ for the New Ultras. This time ... moreThis costs the same as buying the new Ultra every 3 years.

Anonymous, 05 Nov 2025Huh? Xperia 1 VIII is not even released.Sony always release the Xperia 1 in Q2 the following year, so you always know when to look out for its launch.

The Android Freak, 05 Nov 2025Is it with Exynos version or Snapdragon version? S2*... moreI use camera very rarely. Mine is snapdragon version. Storage is 512gb. Very good phone. Ultra was too large and boxy. Regular was too small and less powerful than plus. That's why I bought plus variant.

Samsung price hike usually is not really a big deal since they usually run plenty of decent to great promos at launch, and the price would drop months later. You would have to be a really unlucky person to buy a Samsung phone at full price without any sort of discounts or deals.

samsung use exynos and make price hike thats unreasonable because they said they use this exynos to make to phone cheaper but if they use snapdragon a little price hike is OK, all people wants snapdragon on their samsung flagship device

This isn't new, used to be just apple but Samsung wanted the high score.

Remove features/items in box, increase price.

Make phones less unique, increase price.

                Inflation, increase price.

Other companies are now following suite/have to with tariff/staff/tech improvements (will help Samsung having their own fab, camera, memory/storage and display departments to offset costs with supplying to other manufacturers, why we probably see massive price drops throughout the year when others start releasing devices with Samsung tech in)

Because Samsung and apple create more devices and have far more staff working for them then it's offset in their devices (why we're seeing the big 3 becoming less and less competitive and more boring while focusing on more software/ecosystem integration to offset the actual hardware improvements). Standard practice and with how the world economy is going, things are going to get more expensive anyway (to counter more expensive tariffs etc).

There's a really good video on YouTube by nothing with mrwhostheboss, get him to design his favourite phone and how much it would actually cost to release it. Nothings total staff is less than the camera department staff at apple and this is all part of the cost aswell.

Samsung itself buys almost half of Qualcomm's latest SoC each year. So, they buy it much cheaper than the rest of the brands. Besides, galaxy flagships have no upgrades except the SoC for the last 5 years. This means no hw cost, no r&d cost added to newer models.

rizki1, 05 Nov 2025thanks to Trump tariffs to AI because the price of RAM and ... moreThe price of flash memory is up far more than any Trump tariff. It's likely due to Samsung, Hynix, and Micron shifting production to VRAM to support AI datacenter demands. Supply of any type of memory in inelastic in the short-term, while they can shift between types of memory in the mid-term. In the long run, the only way to increase production is to build more fabs of course.

Every single time I am trying to leave my Iphone behind and switch back to Samsung after 2 years they are pushing me away. So you havent changed the design, camera hardware, minimal software upgrades, chip downgrade and you are expecting us to pay more while the most capitalist company Apple is keeping the prices the same and upgrading the base iPhone storage to 256gb. What kind of idiots are running Samsung????

i mean, its good enough, probably best upgrade since 2020, finally more than 5000mah and 45watts, also the privacy display sounds cool and it definietely need better hardware
hope it wont go too high since im buying it because my s22u starts to stutter and has weird battery lifetime (once 1d 3h and once 10h how to fix this)

unresolved samsung screen vertical line manufacturing issue + inferior samsung fab tech = price hike? is this a joke?

not sure about other regions but samsung galaxy series' build quality is low for asia region in recent years.
