In a way, it's a competitor without the extra bezels and a marginally smaller display than the iPad Air, which delivers on all aspects.

It may also be mentioned that in a 18:9 display, both 16:9 and 2:39:1 videos look good, since the screen coverage ratio for both are pretty decent (88.9% and 83.8% respectively).
