Huawei Mate 70 Air unveiled with 7-inch display, 6,500mAh battery

06 November 2025
The Mate 70 Air is available in two chipset variants.

Sort by:

What people want that Huawei delivers:
1. Thin and light phone,
2. Big battery,
3. Big screen,
4. Good cameras.
Overkill from others:
1. Too thin phone closing to razor blade,
2. Smaller battery,
3. Small screen so they sell more flip phones,
4. 1 or 2 cameras less than usual.

Wait, 18.5:9 aspect ratio!? Are good aspects ratios coming back? And at 7 inches!!! (23:11 to be precise actually)

I'm happy just for that don't even care it's unusable outside of China.

Hope someone copies and uses the same display!

Where is that one guy who keeps berating people for asking for small phones? He keeps saying the world needs 7" phones. I hope he is happy now XD

YUKI93, 06 Nov 20252760 × 1320 pixels is 18.8:9. Welcome back, Mate 20 X. I... moreIt also reminded me of the earliest Samsung, Sharp and Nubia phones under Wingtech. It's nicer to have a wider display over a narrow one that looks like a supermarket bill after a long haul.

namzap, 06 Nov 2025how is it air at 210gm weightTry asking Apple the same thing for their laptops and tablets, when they're clearly heavier by 40% compared to the intended competitors.

Looks like they slapped "Air" just to be in trend because neither weight or thickness (camera bump probably around 15mm lol) fits the criteria

                      Air

                      208g

                      Spot the mistake

Finally a brand new 7" device, it's just unfortunate that it's a Huawei with no Google Play support, but oh well, that's not their fault. The Air naming though I dislike, especially because it's not even a crazy thin device, and it's pretty heavy.

6-6.2 mm woulda been the real deal but this will still feel great. Look at those beautiful curves! Curvy thin phone with good battery? NICE!

a shame that it's a Huawei, I don't like Huawei/would never purchase one of these myself.

Must say I respect whatever they're doing though, apart from horrendous pricing it's all pretty nice

how is it air at 210gm weight

Large and expensive even in China let alone globally.
Asking CNY 1000 more just for extra 4GB +256GB is a ripoff.
