nubia Z80 Ultra in for review

06 November 2025
It brings larger camera sensors, a bigger battery, and the latest Snapdragon chip - not bad!

really glad they went back to the large sensor 18mm (larger even!) instead of the unremarkable 15mm. I have been shooting New York with my z60U this week and this focal length is perfect for street shooting/architectural. Agree with other that the 85mm doesn't feel substantially different from 2x on the 35mm. I hope the next iteration is a compelling upgrade because this phone has a solid experience and the Vivo Ultra needs some competition

I just tried to buy the Z80 from the Nubia store. Apparently... They are no longer shipping to the US. Well, isn't that special. I have the z50, z60 and z70, (as well as a half dozen other Chinese phones) and yet now... I cannot have the z80?

I'd like to thank the American politicians for greatly restricting my "Freedom" to purchase what I want, when I want, from wherever I want. This is absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable!

I would love to get the New Nubia Z80.
Unfortunately it does not seem to have a E- SIM facility to use it in other countries. Otherwise it is a very good phone.

Would love for ZTE to get in on the 6.3" flagship segment. There's no hope for Vivo and Oppo with their international pricing. The nubia Z80 Ultra 12+256 global version is available for 619 USD wirh free shipping to my location. I would gladly pay the same amount for a 6.3" version of this (considering smaller battery and screen).

Will you also review the gamepad 2 and camera accessories?

best looking flagship this year in my humble opinion. Perhaps the best value as well if it has a gcam port for it. The colours play with each other so beautifully and they finally found a way to put the lenses in a visually pleasing way.

zte can use this design for 3 more generations without me complaining at all. Don't try to fix what ain't broken

This way, not only could the phone's back be made flat, but it could also feature higher-end lenses.

Dear Nubia, I wish to seen 1 inch sensor with crisp 2x mode (from X100 Pro) in next Z-series instead of pretty mediocre 3rd (telephoto) camera. Also, bayonet (in the meaning of just a thread) with a 2x magnifier lens will make me happy for some years (for the term of an android updates), but zoom lens forever.

I really like the Nubia Z designs. No punch hole in the screen, and I think 18+35mm cameras are much better than the 12+23mm the rest of the industry uses. 12mm causes so much distortion I almost never use it at all.

I'd just like to see a slightly deeper telephoto, maybe 100mm (~3x) since the main is already 35mm.

And, of course, the big one: continued support. 3 years is pretty short. I don't even care about OS updates, but security updates at least for 5 years, please. That should be the absolute minimum.
