Don't know why...but xiaomi copy everything except iphone air 🤔😆

The single cam is the least of the problems, it lacks audio stereo which also has several entry-level, just esim is a gamble then even two cams would not have been an offense for 1200k

If I remember right, I don't think they have the room to put a camera right beside the top one because of Face ID that's why Apple on the pro phones have three cameras spaced out the way they do

ProMaxUltraAreBricks, 07 Nov 2025Base 17 is the exact same experience as the 17 Pro (same OS... moreIs not only about the camera. There are other differences too.
The performance is better on the Pro models. Ram is better, speakers are better, sustained performance is better (thanks to the aluminum unibody and vapor chamber cooling), Usb port is faster, battery is slightly better, design is better (of course this could be subjective; but at least the Pro design is something new, compared to the base model design which looks the same like past models).
I am not saying the iPhone 17 base model is not worth it. But at 1000EUR, it doesn't look like great value. And whoever has 1000EUR to spend on a phone, can spend 300-400 EUR extra to get the Pro variants, which are better models.

I bought the X200 Pro Mini because I prefer small phones. My only problem is all the Chinese bloatware. Do you have the Chinese ROM version? If so, do you know how to remove all the Chinese bloatware? That would make my software experience much more enjoyable. Thanks in advance.

ProMaxUltraAreBricks, 07 Nov 2025Base 17 is the exact same experience as the 17 Pro (same OS... moreWell, you have the perfect comparison between iPhone and a Chinese flagship.

iPhones were almost never at the forefront of spec. Heck, the first iPhone is not even 3G. The only times they were ahead were with the iPhone 4 (Retina display), iPhone 5s (64bit), and iPhone 6s (NVME). That’s about it I think.

But the Chinese has one huge downfall, ie software. They really don’t spend that much investment and development on software, as nearly all of them are simply a knockoff of iOS (eMUI, colorOS, MiUI, they all feel just like a cheap knockoff). No identity of their own. That’s why for general consumers, once they can afford one, they simply buy iPhones.

Boggy, 07 Nov 2025Lol, 90% from the Pro experience? No. Is not only about P... moreBase 17 is the exact same experience as the 17 Pro (same OS, ecosystem, screen, performance, selfie, battery life, charging speed, haptics, sound…). You're paying hundreds more for literally nothing but an aluminum orange variant and an already weak zoom.

Also, my Chinese X200 Ultra was only around 850€ (cheaper than the base iPhone 17 without deals), and its camera hardware is so far ahead that it will still be beating “Pro” iPhone models for many years to come.

Anyway, the only thing I can agree on is that their Chinese software does feel like a cheap iOS clone.

Is not only about Pro Motion and cameras. That is less than half what a phone is really all about.

Also, pay 1000+EUR for a Chinese phone? Never in a million years I will do that. Is not only about the specs. I don't trust that a particular flagship model from China will run exactly the same (hardware and software) in 3-5 years time. And when buying a flagship expensive phone you make a long term investment let's say.
Anyway, I don't want to get into the debate Chinese phones vs iPhones. I had Chinese phones in the past, and I think they are great value, as long as you don't pay more than 500EUR for one. Everything above that price, is only Samsung and Apple for me.

Boggy, 07 Nov 2025Why wait? Just buy whatever you need and afford right now. ... moreBasically, with the base iPhone 17, it’s 90% of a 17 Pro experience for under €950 (even less using deals) with 256GB.
No need to get the Pro, unless you’re into photo/videography, but the Ultra Chinese flagships have miles better sensors anyway (and can be cheaper too).

The main camera is already wide enough. Instead of a useless wide-angle camera, they would better add a telephoto lens, which is much more useful and practical in real life -for portraits, distant objects, etc.
