8s Gen 4 uses the old ARM architecture, and its gaming performance is worse than that of the 8 Gen 3, partly due to the reduced L2 cache.The 8 Elite uses Qualcomm's Oryon architecture, as does the 8 Gen 5. It is really worse than the 8 Elite, especially in gaming, but it is much better than the 8 Gen 3 in efficiency.

"Qualcomm has introduced the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, a step below the Elite version but still offering great performance—36% faster CPU and 11% better GPU performance than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, along with improved efficiency."
Yet the shills and bashers here say they are words of ignorance. Ridiculous.

This demonstrates that Qualcomm is compromising to win benchmarks. This is what Samsung has done with Exynos for years, and it's what Snapdragon was like when fabbed at Samsung.
Props to gsmarena for doing performance stability tests and exposing this negative development. We need more competitors to TSMC and Qualcomm to curb this in the future.
