Samsung Galaxy Z Flip8 to be thinner and lighter

This year Samsung made the Fold easier to handle, and next year it will do the same for the Flip, apparently.

      You can't have a bendable and solid material at the same time, except if they make it out of two separate materials with only bendable on the hinge. And even then, they need to be careful not to create a bump between the bendable and solid material.

          Can someone explain to me why flip phones, basically bended bar phones, got mid range cameras instead of flagship lvl ones...
          Considering they got nxt gen construction, why use mid range specs for cameras...
          We would be all already on flip phones at least, if they would bring better hw.

They always prefer to use already proven tech to minimize risk of development problems. Very boring for tech nerds like us yes but if you think about the scale of units that they normally shift, it makes perfect sense.

              Thinner flip8 requires a 4700mah battery and s25edge camera setup with main camera able to do lossless 3x zoom and bigger uw sensor. These are ONLY possible with SiC battery.

                    170g is nice for a foldable but there is still potential to go lower

                      Considering how thin the Fold 7 was, the Flip 8 can shave a bit of depth. But my dislike of the Flip7 was not the thickness, but the width. The Flip must be a one handed device imo.

Apple is run by accountants, so that's a company where you see 250 dollar socks and other nonsense. Because, they're not involved in innovating tech, they're an OEM.

                            Instead of making it thinner and lighter thus making an already fragile foldable even more susceptible to damage, Samsung should focus on putting in bigger battery cells to compensate for the power hungry Exynos going into the Flip8 next year.

                                    I'de love to see the faces of those engineers every time the sales team comes into the meeting and casually requests: Great job with the previous design, now we only want you to just make it a little bit thinner by 1mm guys.
