If Xiaomi does this, it will lose a large fan base because its defining characteristic is price, which is what most Xiaomi fans are drawn to.

      This sucks!

And if they don't keep improving then we have even more reasons to hold on to our phones even longer and or buy older devices, soon smartphones will be at their peak and inflation will be paralyzing.

Jemek, 19 Nov 2025It's not the makers fault that people are wiling to pa... morewhat even is your point, the xiaomi 15 and 17 are priced the same, the 17 pro is cheaper than the 15 pro and the 17 pro max is more expensive. If you said the 17 Pro Max sold more, sure, but the whole series sold a lot.

And again, just because demand is there doesn't make price hikes good. Disgusting corporate greed aided by blind consumerism.

Well if said poor people of every country have money equal to rich people nothing would be trully expensive but since poor works for wealthy life style of rich there is no ballance.
Just kings and pawns on the board.

What a horribly written article. So they are going to blame AI for a price hike.

Let's blame AI for everything, and let's start charging people for oxygen, too. This article is trash. Just like the author.

If it becomes more expensive, people will start buying iPhones because it's still imperfect.

After shortage of PC RAM caused price skyrocket, and now this.

Can't believe AI is already ruined every market prices af

Look at Xiaomi this y... moreI think the flagship phones are good but the cameras in the standard flagship model and pro model for Xiaomi's main flagship series aren't great for cameras. They haven't really improved the pro model cameras at all since the Xiaomi 13 pro and the standard model rear cameras are still more or less the same as the Xiaomi 14 (basically very little difference in camera hardware between the Xiaomi 14, 15 and 17). The battery size is the main improvement, I think. Basically, it seems like for the flagship series they don't really care too much about the cameras except for the ULTRA model. You have to go for that one for cameras. This year though in fairness the Poco F8 ultra (Redmi k90 pro max) is a big step up for cameras. Better main, and the addition of a periscope. For a Poco series phone this is an excellent camera setup and it might be the best in it's price range in Europe (depending on the launch price). Expecting the Xiaomi 17 ultra to come with an impressive camera setup next month but it'll probably also see a price hike

                                    "More expensive"? Xiaomi isn’t Apple.
Nobody pays premium prices for ads and bloatware in a cheap Temu plastic iPhone copy.
Xiaomi can stick to the budget bin where they belong.

How much of AI are the general cutomers using?
