Good price for great specs but as always there are better flagships to buy but they are more costly as well.

Realme's target audience isn't the type to pay $1000 for a Realme phone. They sell it for $699 and it's selling like hotcakes. I'm not taking anything away from the G7 Pro; it's a device that, as soon as it's under $500, I'm going to buy in that gorgeous Mars Red color... to add to my collection. This one isn't bad either, and the collaboration with Ricoh isn't bad. But the price isn't right... I'd say around $699, or starting at $699, would be better.

Maybe it's just me but Realme made some good "flagship killers" at reasonable prices. Now they make "flagships" but they just don't have the brand clout to sell at those prices. At least in Europe people who drop more than €1000 for a phone are going with Apple or Samsung. They should have the market data from OnePlus. I don't have this data but I hardly see anyone with an expensive OnePlus. The other brands like Vivo or Oppo are virtually non existent in Europe. So in short in my opinion they are being too ambitious. They can sell other series at €300-400 but the GT Pro series is dead at those prices.

Thus, there are no screws on the non-Pro model. Maybe if the camera island weren't removable, I'd agree. I still see your point, though - there's very limited practicality in the removable camera island - but ugly is far-fetched.

Oppo's k13 Turbo with a built in fan is design following fuction, RedMagic fan is design following function, the alert slider OnePlus killed was design following function, sharp aquos R9 pro using camera metal frame as a heat sink is design following function.
What realme did here is just check a box with minimal effort.
I am even content with pure simplicity and going for plain small camera modules and plain back but this is almost a dismissive attempt at people asking for something exciting.
We pay exorbitant amounts of money these days for phones, we are not in the wrong for asking realistic changes.

I don't see how this Realme GT 8 Pro is ugly. They're trying to be different from all the other very samey phones out there.
