All marketing gimmicks. We are just fascinated by figures. Future proof? By then we have new more capable models. Let's not fight.

Even though (Currently) 64bit Architecture is redundant for what we need, maybe when we see devices with 16-32gig of memory AS standard, the hardware is already in place.

This is not so much about "need" but a stepping stone for the future...

Its funny that everytime Apple does something first, the rest will soon copy. If 64 bit doesn't matter right now then why are Samsung rushing to get this done? Also android doesn't support 64bit yet so pointless until google sort that out.

Apple do something its crap and pointless

Samsung copy and do it and its wow and awesome.

              Fanboy logic?

Apple are leaders simple as that even if you can't see past your fanboy views.

With 64-bit I wonder if it'll be the first phone to have 4GB DRAM considering the Note 3 is already at 3GB DRAM.

All iPhone and iPad are useless with only 1GB DRAM since apps and browser tabs are lost when task switching. That means whatever work you had in progress and/or comment you were in the middle of writing will be lost.

AnonD-58567, 26 Oct 201364 bit is gimmick if it doesn't use 4gb ram or ddr4 ram....... moreAndroid runs from 1 to 3 GB of RAM but they lag & iPhone only 1 RAM and no lag at all. Do u know why, it's your homework. iphone can run 64bit processor with 1 GB of RAM seamlessly. N.B, Android requires more whilst Apple requires less. You can't run fast when you're adiposity but you can run faster when you're thin. hope you enjoyed this analogy. I'm a PHD student in computer engineering.

gam30toronto, 25 Oct 2013Ashosib, don't even go there with your nonsense. I know Sam... moreBro dn angry. I know samsung set are made from cheap plastic. And they dn have their own os like apple. 1st of all, samsung is not a mobile only company. They have other business too. And that is huge. Thst is why it is hard to compete with ios. But still look around, you will see even after this people are still using samsung. Their gs3 gs3 note 2 and 3 are super popular. Do you know why? Because they listen to people. They give what people wants. Thats all i care. Look at apple. They only give what they think is right. That is why, even end of 2013 they still giving us 4 inch display. I know ios is good. But now 4inch display is a little bit small for what i am paying for. Also most of the people like independence. Any file any time i can transfer without need of any transferring software. Any type of video i can watch without converting. Any file i can download whenever i want. Also dn forget android market is trying to catch appstore. Overall i can say that android and samsung is a good match. About the topic. I know 64 bit is a huge step from previous gen but my question is, does the android support 64 bit? Or we thinking about android 5.0 key lime pie?

Not exactly relevant in the real world (at the moment). There is far too much emphasis on so called specs that just do not deliver the great gains in software development as might be expected. What is next? Where is the real software gains in Android or elsewhere. A smooth operation system? Is that all there is? What the geeks are ranting on about as being a must have now, will be mid spec in 2 years, but still where is the software developments to take advantage of the specs. Look at the last 2 years. There has not really been anything significant. Games? Who really care. Of course Samsung is driving specs, but not real innovation (discounting bloatware). You can skip 1-2 generations of mobiles at the moment without suffering any material loss of real day to day performance, and thank you Samsung as you have driving your own prices down, so now we can buy more of the older but great mobiles.
